About Kowloon's Curse: Lost Report

Welcome to Kowloon City.

In this stand alone prequel to Kowloon’s Curse, experience a world both mesmerizing and morbid inspired by retro aesthetics from the dreamcast and ps1 eras. You play as Tony, a henchman to a mafia group headed by the enigmatic figure called ‘The Inspector’.
Get in fights, deal with Tony’s troubled subconscious mind and try to survive a life of crime in a surreal nightmarish world based on Kowloon Walled City.
  • A Standalone prequel to Kowloon's Curse set several months before the start of the game.
  • Explore three districts of Kowloon City, or stay at home and browse KowloonChan.
  • Fight a diverse range of enemies in turn-based combat, each with their own weaknesses to exploit.
  • Visual style inspired by Japanese adventure games from the late 1990s and early 2000s.
  • Replayability: Different choices and paths will present themselves based on your character's stats, allowing for the game to be played multiple times.

So ingenious to come up with a Suda51-inspired dungeon crawler and set it in Hong Kong, of all places. I just hope that in the full game more than just the bottom part of the UI buttons is clickable on the protagonist's PC, and that my frame time won't look like the electrocardiogram of a tachycardic person.

Amazing little tech demo for what I hope to be a great game. Clearly made with love for the 90s/00s horror and oddcore works, this snapshot oozes with atmosphere. While short and lacking in combat, the number of updates since release have added in fun side quests that (with the exception of getting the sewer key) were very enjoyable to complete. I'd say the amount of content is about as much as ENA: Dream BBQ Chapter 1.

7/7 - Because it's free 6/7 - if it cost $5-10 Damn. This game was tight. Very refreshing too. Who would enjoy it? If you like Suda51 games like Killer7. If you love the look of old PlayStation 1 games and their music. If you like dungeon crawling, cyberpunk exploring, kingdom hearts storying, wacked out, cracked out parody, with with mature dialog. Loved it. It's a bit of a slog in movement and transitions from district's takes more effort than it should. You can't control ambient volume. No inventory to see what you have. Some controls not explained. These are all very forgivable for the price of the game.
