About Landinar: Into the Void

✦ AI summary

Hunt bounties across a sprawling sci-fi quadrant while designing and piloting your own custom spaceship built from scavenged parts. Mix exploration, character-driven station visits, and real-time space combat where you can hop out mid-fight to repair systems and hack disabled enemies.

The Landinar Empire has the quadrant on lockdown. Having lost your previous job, you are recruited as a bounty hunter for the Stone Eyed Children. Under their wing you will explore the quadrant, all while having the freedom to build your own spaceship.

Meet diverse characters throughout the Landinar quadrant by docking your ship and exploring stations on foot. As a bounty hunter, you can visit the stations' bounty boards to accept randomly generated bounty missions for credits and rewards. Discover the quadrant, warp from sector to sector and explore stations, hidden areas and secrets at your own pace. You decide where to go next, whether it is continuing the main story or making your own adventure.

Gather hull templates and ship parts to build your own spaceship. What strategy will you choose? Do you prefer speed or gunpower? Build your ship to match your personal playing style at the stations' ship builders and fly off into space in your own custom ship.

Traverse the Landinar sectors and pick your battles. Choose from 10+ weapon types to find your personal strategy and take down your enemies in real time top-down space combat. Hop out of your cockpit mid-combat to repair broken-down rooms with your repair gun, reload your weapons or change your engine boost settings. Board and hack your shut-down enemies for even more rewards.

In Landinar: Into the Void you create your own adventure. You decide what to do, who to talk to, who to fight and how big (or small) your spaceship is going to be!

✦ AI summary

Players praise Landinar's solid ship-building mechanics, interesting space exploration premise, and decent core gameplay loop, particularly for fans of the genre like Drox Operatives. However, the game is heavily criticized for being plagued by numerous bugs ranging from minor (poor translation, repeating dialogue) to game-breaking (NPCs not appearing, character geometry clipping, non-functional UI elements), with reviewers consistently noting it feels unfinished and unpolished despite having decent bones. Most recommend waiting for a significant sale or price reduction to make the experience

This review is mostly for friends of my account who look into the games I've played, so to other players it's not much new being added in terms of why I'm not recommending this. I bought this game way back in 2019, not sure if it was post EA or not, but I had maybe 15-20 hours into it when I had to drop it because of bugs. Like, an incredible amount of bugs; some of them were trivial like repeating dialog and poor translation from the dev's native tongue, Dutch, but there's a significant amount of game breaking bugs as well: - character getting stuck while on-foot in the map's geometry (like realizing you can walk up a slanted crate and then getting stuck on top of it because the game doesn't let you fall off ledges) - mission related NPCs either not appearing where they should or entire ships vanishing/not blowing up when their HP is reduced to zero - progression through missions randomly get soft locked because something in the back-end didn't have a variable changed correctly I could go on but that's not the point of this review; simply put, if you're a casual gamer and don't want to deal with the hassle of bugs of this frequency, I wouldn't get the game. However if y…

!!!! Game is worth it for $2.89 !!!!! Game is absolutley not worth $28.95AUD. If you love this genre (space, top down 2d), if you like Drox Operatives or Spaz you may enjoy this game. I am really enjoying this game, but being only lvl 2 ship barely left the first sector; the amount of annoying bugs is just insane. The game at face value feels like decent quality; everythings clean. But the more you play the more you see that EVERYTHING is buggy. You also realize that despite being 'options' there is very much a 'lack of depth' Bugs I have experienced: - Close button on "hacking" screen doesn't work, hit esc not even sure if I received the parts? (the whole raiding ships is a boring mini game with 'hacking' being the worst part). - Autopilot is dumb - Mixing thruster types on your ship has unknown benefit, sometimes ship speed feels slower, sometimes feels faster. - Docking is bad - Was given a quest to find some richard guy, found him. Delivered him, but he remains stuck in my cargo (perhaps until I clear the rest of the quest?), this quest should not even have been introduced at lvl 1, nothing indicated I would be going to a sector well above my level. - "highways" seem to hav…

Landinar: Into the Void, developed and published by Convoy Games, is an ambitious blend of top-down space adventure, open-world exploration, and modular ship-building simulation. The game places players in a crumbling galactic frontier ruled by a corrupt empire, casting them as a newly minted bounty hunter trying to carve a name in the void. What begins as a series of small jobs and simple ship upgrades soon unfolds into a larger journey across an oppressive star system where lawlessness and corporate greed shape every encounter. The premise feels familiar to fans of space exploration games, yet Landinar strives to stand apart through its distinct mix of ship customization, on-foot exploration, and a seamless transition between piloting and personal movement—an idea few games in the genre attempt. One of the game’s standout elements is its freedom. Players are given immediate access to a customizable ship and can choose how to engage with the world: pursue contracts, explore derelict stations, trade, or simply roam through space. The ship-building system is the centerpiece of this freedom. Every ship is built from modular components, allowing players to experiment with layouts, we…

Despite its Early Access death, it's a good game with solid mechanics and shipbuilding, and while it's definitely rough around the edges I've enjoyed my time with it. (Though I would definitely recommend waiting for a sale)

Such an outstanding game with profound potential and possibility in the open market, the team is still alive and well but has only resurfaced recently following financial issues in 2019 and 2020 splitting apart only coming back together recently as per there website. I hope with profound intent that they focus on developing there games further or make new similar games to play. GOOD LUCK DEVS YOU ARE FANTASTIC
