Leo: The Square

This game is a short and basic minimalist platformer. the art is cute, the lighting is great, and the rest of the platforming components are there. don't expect the world to change after playing this game, it's not that kind of game. but it's enjoyable for those of us wanting a platformer to kill some time with! I finished the game in around 40minutes. For a first ever game, definitely a good job :)

my honest opinion well some of the 2 block jumps are kinda weird i sometime get up but most of the time just stick on the wall this game is fun but it has a few bug with the gravity being a bit off but other then those 2 this game has a lot potential and i mean no disrespect to the dev i know making a game is hard your game nice

as you can see i received a copy of this game for free, and i said to the developer i would write a (hopefully) helpful review. So, here we go. i love the atmosphere, the simplicity definitely sparks and they defo hit the nail on that part. the one issue i came across was in the movement, as you move you can see Leos eye move, indicating the direction hes facing, but that comes at a detriment when you reach the half way point and you need to do wall-jumps. now, it could just be a skill issue but i found sometimes the wall jumping was inconsistent, and in some occasions difficult to provoke as sometimes Leo stays stuck facing one direction (and from my understanding you can only start wall jumping from the direction hes facing, so if you need to jump off the platform and start wall jumping as soon as you jump, sometimes you just fall as he isn't facing the right way when you turn around quickly). i did come across a glitch but nothing game breaking, in levels with moving objects you can use collision to force yourself into the wall. overall, i'd say my experience with this game was certainly positive, as seen above my only complaint is to do with the moment and whilst yes its a …

Surprisingly, interesting game. I love the style and atmosphere the developer tried to introduce. However, it's still too short for 5$ (I would expect at least 25 levels) and there are some annoying bugs with the collider box...And man, there is no ending, so I'm a bit dissapointed. Summarising all things together, can I recommend this game? It's more yes than no and despite of issues I've described I really enjoyed the game.

This short, but sweet platformer that has impressive lighting and a deeper narrative than I thought. A nice palette cleanse to longer games out there. Well worth your time!

Feels like a generic 2D scratch platformer with post processing. The controls are buggy, and the main character is literally a square with one eye. Okay game, NOT worth the money.
