I am still playing at this moment and I have to say , the looping music is calming but I wish there was more than once in the categories ( ex : food ,ect ) (EDIT for the MUSIC ; there is a system of points when you complete 100% no mistake an activity of a sub-category(ex:fruits) and you can buy a couple of music there.). There are mistakes in vocabulary ( somehow lol ) As I said , I am currently in game in the food category ; Vegetables . It says Corn is : Toomokoroshi and the audio says toomorokoshi. Also , it isnt that either , corn is Toumorokoshi , or in 1/hiragana and 2/katakana is 1/とうもろこし 2/トウモロコシ. I will surely comeback for more.. if I start the game and get already a typo, doesnt look too good.1 found this helpful
Short Review
This is a language learning game, giving you around 9 or so words for each category. For example you can learn basic vegetables, fruits or domestic as well as exotic animals. The concept in itself is nice, as I wish more games like this. You can also Latin or hiragana/katakana. The thing is that the game initially shows you 9 words, as well a picture to accompany it with but only gives you a single random “game” to learn those words. Meaning you get around 9 words, and have fruit ninja or a simple is this x item while seeing a picture game. Sometimes I got 3 times in row is this colour grey, blue, purple for example, while showing me red. I even had the first answer being red correct, yet it showed me next time again is this blue? This makes the learning experience absolutely inefficient. I finished some games, wrote down words I didn’t know initially and did the games. One day later I basically forgot most of it, as the game does not require you always to know every word and does not re use them. For example, games should focus on a much higher variety of vocabulary and also work better. Its a flawed concept of a learning game.1 found this helpful
Excruciatingly slow screen transitions, misspellings, and some vocabulary words are just incorrect.
nice
Let’s Learn Japanese! Vocabulary is an educational indie title developed and published by Dr. Cyril Splutterworth that focuses on introducing players to foundational Japanese vocabulary through a light, gamified format. Rather than presenting itself as a full language-learning curriculum, the game narrows its scope to word recognition and recall, offering a structured yet approachable way to memorize commonly used terms. Designed with beginners in mind, it aims to transform early vocabulary study from a rote memorization task into a more interactive and motivating experience. The core of the game revolves around themed vocabulary sets covering everyday categories such as food, animals, numbers, household objects, and simple descriptive terms. Players engage in a series of short challenges that test their ability to match Japanese words to their meanings, often pairing written terms with corresponding images or translations. This repeated exposure encourages recognition and reinforcement, helping learners internalize words through consistent practice. The structure resembles digital flashcards but adds light progression systems that make the process feel more like a casual game tha…
It took me 70 minutes to complete it. This one is a bit tricky, since you need to have everything perfect in the topic to get the achievement. So if you make one mistake, and you like to get all achievements, start again. But other than that, nicely done.
