Light Night Street

Light Night Street is a compact indie action game that takes the familiar intensity of bullet hell shooting and reshapes it around a more defensive style of play. Developed and published by YUMEYUME, it places considerable importance on surviving projectile-heavy encounters through a combination of movement, precise aiming, shielding, and counterattacks. Instead of making constant evasion the only reliable response to enemy fire, the game gives players a shield that allows them to directly confront incoming attacks. This creates an unusual rhythm in which successful defense can become the beginning of an offensive opportunity rather than simply a way to avoid damage. Movement and aiming operate independently, with 360-degree aiming allowing players to attack in one direction while repositioning in another. This gives combat a twin-stick shooter character and becomes particularly important when enemies begin filling larger portions of the battlefield with projectiles. Keeping track of positioning, the direction of incoming attacks, the shield, and potential targets creates the majority of the challenge.
