About Logiart Grimoire

Story

You, who have taken hold of the Logiart grimoire, encounter Emil, the custodian of the grimoire.

Originally, it was the grimoire that could solve "Logiart",
but the cast magic has gone awry, transforming it into the enigmatic grimoire.
Most of the "Logiart" can no longer be unraveled.

As one led by the Logiart's grimoire, you can solve it and once again restore the ability to solve "Logiart."
Let's work together with Emil to unravel the mysteries of this enigmatic grimoire and restore it to its original state.

Features of the game.

Logiart
Logiart is a "Picture Logic Puzzle" that uses vertical and horizontal numbers as hints to complete illustrations.
It has simple and easy-to-understand rules, making it accessible for anyone to play.
Various assist functions are also included, allowing for a smooth gameplay experience.
You can also choose to turn off the assist functions if desired.

Fusion
The puzzles solved in Logiart serve as materials to unlock new puzzles.
By correctly combining 2 or 3 materials through fusion, new puzzles are unlocked.
To find the right combinations, read the hint texts provided for each puzzle and use deduction.

Number of Logiart Puzzles
There are a total of 280 puzzles in various sizes.
The available sizes are 5x5, 10x10, 15x15, 20x15, 30x30, and 40x30 for a total of 6 options.

Emil's Growth
Emil, who helps unravel the mysteries of the grimoire together, gains magical power every time you solve a Logiart puzzle.
As Emil's magical power increases, you'll be able to fuse more puzzles.

Unlocking Magic Book Categories
Due to a malfunction in the grimoire, the categorized sections have become inaccessible.
At first, there may be few categories available to browse, but as you progress through the game and solve specific puzzles, more categories will be unlocked.

How to progress in the game.

Fuse the cleared puzzles to create new ones.
Repeat the process of solving the newly created puzzles...
...and work together with Emil to aim for the restoration of the grimoire.

Jupiter usually makes decent Picross games, but I found Logiart Grimoire to be rather tedious and it took me like 8 months to finish. In the end, it's just a huge assortment of Picross puzzles, with no real overarching theme aside from having to restore a mysterious grimoire with different pages sorted by categories such as Tools or City. I usually love Picross puzzles, but I think my biggest problem with this one is that there's no real difficulty curve. As you fuse more puzzles by combining previously solved ones, you rise in rank and bigger and more complicated puzzles become available - at least sometimes, because the difficulty is all over the place. Some 10x10 puzzles were fiendishly difficult, whereas some bigger ones were rather easy. Another issue that makes Logiart Grimoire often more tedious than difficult is that there may only be one small field you can fill out in the middle of the puzzle, then another small field on the left etc. instead of having some sort of satisfying springboard to work off of, like the edges. I know this just sometimes happens with Picross puzzles, but it should be a rare occasion reserved for more difficult puzzles, and here it happened a L…

Fine picross game with too much junk layered on the top, in the form of needless animations and a an extra language-based puzzle that is too poorly translated to actually play in English. For example, one prompt was "It's a *creature* that likes to *climb trees*" - and the solution is a heart and a tree. That may be a one off translation issue, but it was enough to stop me in my tracks. The word puzzle overlay is already an uninteresting addition to a just fine picross game, and if it's going to be a total crapshoot, I'd just as soon stick with a no-frills picross. (FWIW, the graphics are nice, and for a picross beginner who can play the game in Chinese, it's probably a lot more compelling. )

I would recommend this game to others that play picross games. -The puzzles varied from small 5 x5 to extra large at 40 x 30. -The game allows you to use hints but can't get achievements for it to balance it I guess. - It had an odd but fun gimmick where you would combine puzzles to create new puzzles based on the clue. -Game ran fine and I didn't have any other issues.
