The second VHS beat me up and stole my pocket change......
Short walking simulators with a few good scares. The second Tape especially, Report 07, was very well-made and scared me good!
"Lost & Found Collection" is yet another first person horror jumpscare adventure game (amateur developers LOVE these, because they're so easy to pump out). This one has hideously bad graphics and was intended to be released as a series of chapters, but incredibly low demand from Steam seems to have caused this to be overall abandoned. Let's go into why. The game is presented as a series of low quality FPS horror adventure minigames on old school VHS tapes. Each tape represents a slice of the overall first person horror jumpscare narrative. Heck, another game that might have even been a huge success if the production values were remotely acceptable. Even though the game looks pretty bad (and decent visuals are a minimum requirement for any game), we can be fairly sure this is not an asset flip. This is because the game assets look so bad, no self respecting asset creator would publish them. That's a fail. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets of any level of quality usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. Let's talk about price and the value this represent…
Its alright, I only played one game and a bit of the second one (until I realised I wasnt recording the second one because it showed up as a black screen) and they were short and straight forward, not a bad thing, they were enjoyable
For a free horror game, I enjoyed the experience as a whole but the parts with the monster irritated me since they can spawn randomly. I found "First Awake" the best one with an inspiring story and a nice twist at the end. For an overall package, it didn't do anything for the horror genre, so I will give it a 5/10.
