I really enjoyed playing a queer choice matters game! Also nice to see "real" teenagers and not like "American highschool movie teenagers who look mid/end twenty with to high beauty standards!) Interesting & thrilling story with shocking plottwists! (ifykyk) Love the film/camcorder feature! + mega soundtrack! Cant wait for the 3rd tape/part to play!1 found this helpful
was expecting more supernatural/horror elements, but the game is still a fun, cute 90's throwback1 found this helpful
Solid game. Certified Friendship Simulator, I can relate (to tape 1 at least) + choices are better structured here than in Life is Strange, not always so immediate + some outcomes are like "how do I even get there" which is great if you get them without a guide + based 90's setting + music + art direction + voice acting + camcorder bits are really fun with the playstation controller's gyro - some scenes are kinda strange - story feels like it wanders a bit if you have an unc life schedule - romance is weird since they are teens and the player is likely an adult + I hope to see a second one or at least a spiritual successor.
So, I 100%'d this game so you don't have to. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is essentially a slightly cringier version of Life is Strange (2015). Unfortunately, it is too short for its price tag and it suffers from a lot of small issues that compound to make the game tough to recommend. For example, the voice acting leaves much to be desired - ESPECIALLY that of the protagonist. I am not being nit-picky here, it really took out all the immersion for me at several points of the game. It also commits the same sin as Life is Strange by throwing sad indie music at scenes that are supposed to be emotional. Music should stir emotions naturally, but using it like this feels like a cheap shortcut to force a reaction out of the player. Also, the FOV in the current-day first person view sections of the game is extremely narrow and there is no way to adjust it in-game. I don't want to get too much into the writing. I did like the main characters overall. I think they really missed the opportunity to do something interesting with Corey, though. Do not pay 39.99€ for this game! Almost all of my complaints would vanish if it were a 20€ to 25 € title, but at its current price, it's undoubtedly…
Honestly, I really enjoyed this game. It felt a lot like DONTNOD's life is strange games which were some of my favorite games ever. This one felt fresh in a way as well, something new but still has a story that keep you hooked. I highly recommend anyone that enjoyed the older LIS games to try out this game. It was fun, exciting, and kept you on edge. It keeps you wanting to play more and find out what happens as well as try to get every new scene possible. Amazing game.
