Great backrooms game. Some silhouettes of an entity watching you, and some jump scares with that creepy doll showing up around corners. But no entities chasing you or anything like that. As someone who hates entities in backrooms games and prefers only exploration, this hit the mark for me. Hoping to see more from the dev in the future.4 found this helpful
This game falls within the well-known The Backroom trend. If you've just played one of these games previously, you won't need any additional information because you already know everything. Once again, you begin in the empty yellow rooms and halls, where you have a constant feeling of being watched. The visuals add to the ambiance because the image on your screen appears to be from an ancient VHS tape or video recorder, with a small curvature and dust particles on it. Also, your suit emits a continual beeping sound. There are three chapters. The first one is the longest since you must search an unusual location for several pieces of a code that unlocks the elevator. The second part sends you to a pool area where you can quickly find two numbers and then simply guess the third. Lastly, you find yourself at a linear mall with no puzzles. You can complete the game in less than an hour, assuming you're lucky in the first half and take the right turns in the yellow maze. Nothing is hunting you; the only thing that makes you anxious are scary dolls standing still behind corners.4 found this helpful
Love this game. It's exactly the sort of Backrooms game I like to play, a little spooky, lot's of exploring and no chases. I only have 1 complaint....I want more lol. It's too short, or maybe I'm just greedy. I did have a bit of trouble with the code on the gate in the poolrooms. It just would not work. Had to restart the game and then it worked. Oh, and my feet were still sloshing heading into the elevator, like I was still walking in water. Didn't mind though, made me laugh. Good job Dev....MORE, MORE, MORE.........please :)1 found this helpful
Being that I'm starting to enjoy Backrooms games that do not include screamers, stickman and the likes, this one gets an instant thumbs up from me. You can check it for yourself by pressing the link below: https://youtu.be/x543eIxwDrM
There's nothing memorable or interesting about this game besides that someone actually got the right backrooms wallpapers for once. Locations are bland, gameplay is more about code-hunting than exploration, and there is exactly as much spookiness and tension here as you'd expect to find in traversing largely identical brightly lit rooms with nothing but your thoughts and the protagonist's loudly beeping equipment to keep you company. This one really brings out my inner angry video game nerd.
Just played this and I hate to say it, but I can't recommend this in its current state based on my own experience with the game. I don't have any problem with the game mechanics, the visuals or the atmosphere - these are all fine and creepy. Unfortunately, however, I ran into technical problems. Not long into the game, and I started to get frame rate stutters that sometimes became severe. Eventually, on two separate occasions in the first level the game basically froze up and caused my PC to slow down like crazy. When I eventually got Task Manager open (which was not easy given how laggy everything had become), I noticed that the disk and memory usage was through the roof. It's a shame, because as I said above I have no other issues - everything else is fine. And looking at the reviews and discussion forum, other players have had similar issues but it doesn't seem to affect everyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ojI6CA_YXY
