About Machine Heart

Machine Heart is a 2.5D Sci-fi Puzzle-Adventure Game featuring two interconnected storylines. You'll play as Avis, a defiant scientist hunted for her research, and Vox, a sentient robot who lost all his memory. By bringing together two storylines from two distinct eras, you'll uncover the striking secret behind the fate of humanity.

Throughout your journey, you will learn to solve challenging cross-timeline puzzles with a mix of stealth, bike chasing, and exploration. Will you be able to find out what truly happened to all of mankind?

TRAVEL BETWEEN TWO ERAS

The two storylines are set in two distinct times and spaces. Carefully explore the dystopian Cyberpunk city of Avis's storyline, or immerse yourself in the post-apocalyptic ruins of Vox's storyline. Switch between storylines at any time and discover the surprising connection between the two protagonists.

EXPERIENCE THRILLING STEALTH GAMEPLAY

When you play as Avis, the scientist, you'll need to evade hostile patrols by staying out of their spotlight. Hurry up and get to your lab as soon as you can because your research might decide the fate of humanity.

CHALLENGE YOUR WITS WITH UNIQUE PUZZLES

Solve unique and challenging puzzles throughout your journey. Some require careful observation of the world, while others test your ability to connect various clues you've gathered. Can you piece together the solutions and the true story behind the game?

An interesting school project game that keeps you busy for about an hour of your time, give or take. Machine Heart tells a story about robots, human consciousness and gives you the choice of deciding the fate of humanity. The art in this game was really pretty and the design was great. I was kinda laughing at the animations as they were a little bit wonky, but they weren't too bad! The voice acting was lovely and the story was interesting as well. I had a little bit of troubles with some bugs that were almost game breaking, but I reinstalled the game and continued from my save to thankfully get past it. You shud still be aware that there can be bugs in this game and some might cause you to have to start the game over, reinstall the game or load a save. Taking all of that into consideration, I really think it's a great free game and definitely worth checking out!

Not much gameplay, the puzzles are not very hard but it has one of those "living within a simulation" lore. The finale is nice but given that the game is only 30 min long, it doesn't give much weight or emotional impact on the choice. Kinda reminded me of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. The ending soundtrack was kickass though, kinda shame not to use it in another big action game.

Janky controls but an intriguing world. Hard to fully believe the supposed emotional development of your main character given the length. but it is free! you get to be robot. so.

Such a neat little game. I enjoyed both the gameplay and the story. This is one of those games I wish were longer.

I couldn't get this to run on the correct monitor without a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and it wouldn't end up running at the correct refresh rate anyway. What's with student and solo dev projects having ZERO graphics options? Is this not something Unity/Unreal will do most of the work to include by default? I wasn't excited to play very far by the time I got it working.
