Become a Magic Thief in a new reinterpretation of the classic minesweeper game. Immerse yourself in the world of the magical Middle Ages, open chests, use charms and avoid encounters with mysterious crystals!
Magic Thief is a minesweeper like you've never seen him before. The cells are chests, wooden boxes and other vaults of jewelry, which our skillful thief wants to take away from the bad and the rich for the poor and deprived.

Magic Thief is essentially a Minesweeper clone with minimal effort put into differentiation, charging $5 for functionality available free elsewhere. Players criticize unfair RNG-heavy gameplay, poor visuals that obscure what's happening, technical issues including launch failures, and the overall sense that it's a low-effort asset flip that doesn't justify its price point.
Magic Thief is, and I'm not making this up, a $5 ripoff of Minesweeper, which is a game you can play for free in a browser, or pretty much anywhere. But slap a few (probably) asset flipped objects onto it as a skin, and apparently this is worth $5. Spoiler: This is not worth $5. It's Minesweeper. Jesus. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes Magic Thief might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push t…4 found this helpful

This game relies too much on RNG guessing, the visuals make it hard to see what's going on, and most importantly, it doesn't even launch anymore (which, honestly, is the good news).1 found this helpful
