Mine? Sweeper

I'm going to open with the one positive thing I can say about the game: putting a dungeon exploration skin on it is a cute and fun idea. Unfortunately, the rest of what I have to say is going to be negative. This game is extremely frustrating, especially if you are at all familiar with the original version. -You cannot simply uncover the safe tiles. Instead, you have to move the character next to the tile you want to clear and then click it again. The character cannot clear tiles in diagonal, meaning you will have to do some additional moving to clear around even a single mine and frequently, you will not be able to clear a safe tile at all. -When labeling tiles (simple right click, as the original), you first place a question mark and only on the second click you put down a trap label. The question mark is completely unnecessary and the trap labeling is integral to the game, so the order of placing them should at least be reversed. Unlike the OG, where tiles marked as mines are not clickable, you can still make your character accidentally trigger a correctly marked trap. -The numbers enumerating the traps can change -The fact that you need to move your character to clear tiles …

Mine? Sweeper is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Minecraft (Copyright Microsoft, 1989). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. Putting aside the unethical intellectual, creative and moral bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. The only difference is that Microsoft hasn't taken any legal action (yet), and there's a gimmick around collecting treasure, but this was not the "twist" on someone else's intellectual property that would make gamers lime up around the block to play someone's ripoff of someone else's mouse tutorial game from the 1980s. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn'…

I love minesweeper and I appreciate that the devs did their twist on the classic game. However, this one is not fun. I can get behind the clunky movement and the no 'right click to delete multiple grids', however, the 'double numbers' to indicate treasure and traps simply do not work together. You don't have enough magnifying glasses and you do end up guessing towards the end of the game, simply hoping that you have enough potions to recover. I think a mining game that places treasures randomly that you need to discover by revealing the map and avoiding traps, that could lead to levels where you have all the treasures before finding all the traps could be more entertaining.
