Magnificent Ships: Volume 2

From the same people who brought you "VROOM: GALLEON", this is essentially just a detailed 3D model of various ships with some added effects. Spending $10 on it might be a bit much since there's no game here, but each ship is pretty well modeled (on the exterior anyway) and you can even go below the water level to get a look at the hull, rudder and propellers/screws. It's pretty much the same thing as Volume 1 (and you can read that review for more details rather than just copy-pasting it all from one review to the other). You get 6 ships to choose from: an 18th British Warship, US Aircraft Carrier (complete with planes flying off the deck), Jacques-Yves Cousteu's famous ship (the Calypso), the Ocean Liner Queen Mary 2, a WWII German U-Boat, and a Coast Guard Ice breaker ship. You can change the time of day/night which is nice and for each ship there's an extra event you can trigger that sorta demonstrates some of it's power and abilities. You can also sail a mini Remote Control version of it around a small pond (complete with mermaid). It is an interesting experience in VR, but it just seems off. The scale of the ships doesn't quite match up and everything seems smaller. The ships look fine from a distance but the details seem to fade as you get closer to them. You can fly around the exterior of the ships and kind of see what it's like on them. The problem is that if you look closely at the detailing, some of the items on the deck seem out of place and almost as if they look appropriate but don't do anything. The carrier was the first place that I noticed things that seemed odd. The "Island" seemed relatively small compared to the rest of the ship and there is an empty room at the bottom and aft which seems to serve no purpose. It might have been cool to see hatches, writing, or some kind of interior area. The elevators didn't seem to match up with the lines on the flight deck and the hangar seemed empty. The cruise liner seemed like it would have been interesting but some things seemed off. There is a single room which you can almost go inside and then you look at the wall and see windows that continue into a corner. The window goes past a corner wall and just doesn't look right.
