About Seafarer: The Ship Sim
Ahoy, Seafarers!Feel the wind in your face, the deck beneath your feet and the salt on your lips.Seafarer: The Ship Sim is in Early Access. We’d love for you to come aboard and launch your maritime career with us. The world, the ships, and the systems will grow update by update, and you’re invited to watch and shape that journey as it happens. We want you to enjoy life at sea. This isn't a high-realism work training simulator in which you have to memorize every bolt or tick off endless checklists before you even start the engine. Our goal is simple: Take things at your own pace on a huge open map. Follow a career path or jump straight into the action in quickplay. It’s your call. No two days on the water are the same. Calm sunrises over quiet seas can turn into rough storms without warning. Dynamic waves, changing weather, and unexpected encounters make every voyage feel a little different and, hopefully, memorable.Choose from a growing fleet of vessels that range from small workboats to true giants of the sea. Patrol harbors and coastlines, load containers and bulk cargo with massive cranes, transport delicate LNG, answer distress calls, rescue stranded crews, fight fires, salvage lost freight, or guide huge ships safely into dock.Or simply just enjoy the view from the bridge and snap a few pics. Check out the roadmap to see what’s coming next. New vessels and features are on the way, while existing systems continue to be refined and polished. Multiplayer and ship customization are also on the horizon.Set sail today.Early Access means we’re building this together. Your feedback, ideas, and reports genuinely help plot the course ahead. Join us on this voyage through the sometimes stormy seas of development and let’s aim for smooth sailing toward full release.
- Early Access title – actively developed and growing over time, with regular updates shaped by player feedback.
- A living open world set on a huge map inspired by North European seas, ports, and coastlines.
- Sandbox gameplay with dynamic weather, day & night cycles, and unpredictable events – no two voyages are quite the same.
- Take the helm of a growing fleet of vessels, from small workboats to large seagoing ships.
- Hands-on ship interaction: operate engines, handle cargo cranes, deploy water cannons, and dig into your vessel’s systems.
- Choose your career path within factions – or jump straight into the action with quickplay.
- Create your own seafarer with the character editor and step onto the bridge as yourself.
- Modern visuals and realistic waves, powered by Unreal Engine 5 and NVIDIA WaveWorks 2.0, bringing sea and weather conditions to life.
- More to come: New ships, features, and improvements will be added step-by-step as development continues.

Runs like straight poop from a butt and it's not a simulator BUT if you are looking for an arcadey ship game then this is perfect. if you are looking for a simulator then go for ships at sea or stormworks2 found this helpful
I don't understand what the game wants. I sail into a harbour (Fort Westport) in the Herbert and get the message that I've discovered it, but when I go to my Tablet, that harbour is still locked and I can't view the available cargoes. The only two harbours that are unlocked are Mettington (which has Oil on offer at 165) and Sandham (which wants Oil but only at 154) so I would lose money on each cargo. In earlier sessions I've ended up soft-locked at the end of a mission where the last step is "Return to Ship" when I'm already on the ship and no matter where I go it won't tick off that last step. I had to create a new Profile and start all over again to progress. I managed to rescue/repair a stranded boat, but later could not manage to rescue shipwrecked people from the water. No matter how close I appeared to be from the helm, when I got to the side of the ship the lifebelts would not throw out far enough! I eventually threw about a dozen overboard in the general vicinity and then ran over one of the survivors and managed to pick him up by fluke (perhaps knocking a lifebelt into him?). I think I would enjoy the game if I could only work out what I'm doing wrong (or why wha…1 found this helpful
