I have completed this game 3 times (for achievements) and I can write a little bit about it. The game takes place an hour and a half to two hours. There are 3 characters in the game (Maki, Tincho and Maka), each with their own techniques and abilities (personally, I liked Maki the most). Maki: Paws of Fury is a retro fighting game in which we have to defeat all the enemies and save the princess. I would like to mention the good design, visual effects, music and a large number of enemies. Tuna is the best :D
I have encountered bugs in the game several times (for example, an enemy appeared on a texture and I couldn't kill it. I had to reset the level :/
6 found this helpful
Cute game, love the graphic style, pretty short story
The game is just okay. It’s cute and easy to play with a simple story. The game is also boring and put me to sleep a couple times while playing. The Good Cute art style Alright controls. But I did have problems with it, like when I wanted to look the other way and attack but I had to wait for an animation to finish. I’m not sure. It’s not that responsive. The game is short. It has variation in levels where you go on a snowboard, parachute, and race. The game is easy and when you lose all your lives, you just come back and continue playing. I liked the different biomes of levels. The Bad I found the boss battles to be bad. They had so much area when they hit and they never stop and really give you a chance to hit them. Enemies are reused a lot in each level except the last level. The story didn’t make sense for something so serious as kidnapping some girl. The levels drag on too long. You fight enemies forever. Bosses are damage sponges. Conclusion It’s an okay game.
I mean, it's your standard beat 'em up, and that's all there really is to say about this game. There's nothing that particularly stands out about it good or bad, and the most I can say is that in the end the gameplay is kind of basic and it wasn't too long before I personally at least was kind of bored with the game wishing it was over since there was just nothing particularly special to make it interesting any longer, but my point is, I guess if I have to give it a recommended or a not recommended, it would have to be a not recommended, since I see no particular reason to suggest to anybody they play this, and it doesn't really stand out that much.
Unlimited lives
This game has effectively unlimited continues, and technically you have a limited number of lives and if you run out it's game over, but... the game just asks if you want to continue anyway when you lose your last life, and if you say yes you're immediately thrown right back into the game at the exact moment you left like nothing happened and given a couple of extra lives, so at least that made it easy to get through and there was no dying 10 minutes into the last boss and having to go all the way back to the …
Really simple beat-em-up that is just two buttons for attacks like those SNES days. No Light or Heavy attacks, just the basics. Fighting is simple and the game is short enough to not drag on for too long. Bosses are pretty basic with the bloated HP and only two attacks they all have. Not too bad of a game and I did enjoy what I played, but not recommended if you wanted some complex combat mechanics.
Cute beat em up with the polishing you would expect from a Garfield game...really wanted to like it but lack of combos and the design of levels and bosses forces you to button mash while waiting for the next stage.
