Its not bad but a bit janky. The game is made by 1 person so props to him. The story is nonexistant basically. Theres a weird unnecessary 3d section shoehorned in for no good reason. The attack animation and non-boss combat is a bit janky with choppy animations. Platforming is decent but wall jumping can be finnicky. There are a good number of boss fights and theyre all unique. The game is super short, theres some time wasting minigames and side quests if you want. You unlock some new shark forms for puzzles and navigation but no real new weapons and only 1 total move, all you do is money is buy health potions basically. Its not a bad game and works well enough. You could do worse, and it gets a barely recommend from me. 6.5/101 found this helpful
The game is solid, but very short, even if you complete all of the unneeded side quests. It's a solid platformer with some very light metroidvania aspects, but mostly just solving some simple traversal puzzles/challenges on a few islands and fighting bosses. The central gimmick of changing into different sharks is okay, but nothing in the game is very deep or challenging. It's pretty good, but it can be beat in 1-2 hours, so consider getting it on sale.
great little game for the afternoon, visuals can be improved, as well as controls... but is fun (and very impressive considering its the first game of its developer). i also love sharks so thats some bonus points. recommended :)!!
I saw this on reddit. Very fun platformer, defintly worth it
Very simple platformer with some nice ideas. Nasty achievements if you care about that.
"Makis Adventure" is a short 2D action-adventure, where you control a little imp-hero that can turn into a shark, determined to save a small archipelago from a demonic entity. The gameworld is quite unique and although you can can complete the game in around 2 hours, the world has many sidequests and minigames to offer. Also the 3D world-map traversal is a pretty feature. It is sadly not without flaws, a little janky in the movement (got stuck in the wall after some chain-grapping-wiggle for example). Also graphically there seem some minor texture errors (saw some black lines between the tiles sometimes). Nonetheless a fun and earnest title from a solo-dev worth a look!
