Max Payne, a washed-up ex-cop battling addiction and trauma, takes a bodyguard job in São Paulo only to find himself entangled in a dangerous conspiracy that forces him to fight his way through the city's streets. Players praise the tight gunplay mechanics, excellent music, and solid gameplay foundation, with some calling it a short masterpiece. Short masterpiece
Better than 1st and worse than 2nd game. Max is too dumb in this game, after going sober (so your argument that he is drunk fails), that entire shelf of painkillers wouldn't help me cope with it. It's so bombastic, blockbuster and hollywood-like. Take 10 steps, cutscene, fight for 10min, cutscene, take 15 steps cutscene. Holy ♥♥♥♥, let me play the game, man. I won't even talk about those on-rails levels, it's pathetic to be honest. This game is an equivilent of the early 2010s action game. (many similarities to SPEC OPS THE LINE). Anyway it's still really good. Gameplay is fantastic, gunplay is flawless, music is amazing and respect to move from NYC to Brazil. The graphics still holds up. Boss fights are also bad, i'd say worse than previous games because it's a third installment and boss fights are still scripted so bad, no improvement. Remakes will blow this game out the water, when they come out.
