About Medieval II: Total War™ Kingdoms
Conquer four epic new theaters of war—from medieval Britain to the Americas—with 13 fresh factions, over 110 units, and 80 hours of expanded Total War gameplay. This expansion introduces hotseat multiplayer campaigns for the first time in the series, letting you battle friends on the same PC across entirely new maps and territories.
Kingdoms is the most content-rich expansion ever produced for a Total War game, with four new entire campaigns centered on expanded maps of the British Isles, Teutonic Northern Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. In Medieval II, you were only given a tantalizing glimpse of South America, but in Kingdoms, vast tracts of land in both North and South America have been opened up for you to conquer. All-new factions from the New World are also now fully playable, including the Aztecs, Apaches, and Mayans.
Along with the new maps in the Britannia, Teutonic, Crusades, and New World Campaigns, there are 13 new factions to play, over 110 units to control, and 50 building types, adding up to 80 hours of new gameplay. Kingdoms also offers new multiplayer maps and hotseat multiplayer, a first for the Total War series, allowing you to play one-versus-one campaign games on the same computer.

The Kingdoms expansion for Medieval 2 is pretty close to being the best DLC of the whole Total War franchise. All four of its campaigns are excellent and each feel unique to play through multiple times with different factions. The America's campaign is great because it is fun to playthrough as both the Spanish or one of the indigenous factions. The Spanish have a core of excellent well armored units, heavy cavalry and firearms, but have to rely on huge numbers of weak indigenous allied mercenaries to actually have numbers. Factions like the Aztecs on the other hand have better indigenous warriors, but are entirely unarmored and lacking in units like cavalry to do the moral shocks that are pretty central to Medieval 2's combat system. The Crusades campaign is a fun cavalry arms race. Medieval 2 is already a very cavalry focused game, but here all of the factions are cavalry focused. The Egyptians and Crusaders have excellent heavy cavalry and the Turks have cavalry archers. This expansion is about using small corps of elite units to the best of their ability and it works well. The Britannia campaign has has obscene amount of faction diversity and some interesting map starts. …13 found this helpful

Some of the best campaigns in the series. More factions, awesome maps, and new units. Definitely worth it.
Medieval II: Total War™ Kingdoms is a massive expansion to Medieval II: Total War, developed by The Creative Assembly, with macOS and Linux versions handled by Feral Interactive and published by SEGA alongside Feral for those platforms. Rather than offering a handful of additional scenarios, Kingdoms delivers four fully realized campaigns that significantly expand the historical, geographical, and mechanical scope of the original game. For players who already appreciated Medieval II’s fusion of turn-based grand strategy and large-scale real-time battles, Kingdoms feels less like supplemental content and more like an ambitious second act that explores new corners of the medieval world with depth and intensity. Each of the four campaigns presents a distinct historical theater with its own political tensions, faction rosters, and strategic challenges. The Britannia campaign narrows the focus to the British Isles, intensifying regional conflict among England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and Norway. The tighter map creates a more claustrophobic, aggressive style of play, where territorial expansion happens quickly and rivalries escalate rapidly. In contrast, the Teutonic campaign shifts …
