Monroe Murders is a very short (~30mins) but sweet visual novel about some unlikely acquaintances in a small town where nothing is quite as it seems. Murder is on everyone's mind and danger seems close at hand. Features some dialogue choice & multiple endings. Starts as a slow burn but it's well-written & the twist at the end is solid. Ever go out on a rainy day to hang out in a cozy coffee shop and relax, maybe do some people-watching? This game encapsulates that feeling. I love the muted colors and the music. The writing is enjoyable, relatable, and very human, and got a few genuine laughs out of me. The game play is simple in a good way. I also really like your character's phone interface. The voice acting is great. It feels like talking to people I know. The music is wonderful and nuanced. Gameplay for me was a bit unpredictable, so a nice surprise. I like the down-to-earth ness about it, and it was surprisingly challenging to get the different endings. Pay attention to the tip jar, and which characters you prioritize during certain scenes. Super recommended. Best indie game I've played in a while.

A cozy noir start that quickly pulls you in. Playing as a barista made me want to jump up and grab a coffee, but the narrative kept me glued. A very engaging visual novella, I recommend it

I loved my time with this game. The story was very compelling and the characters were great. The art, music, and voice acting are all so well done. I'll be keeping an eye out for more from this dev.
