Monstro Maestro is a compact 2D action-adventure that makes music an integral part of its identity rather than simply using it as decoration. The player takes control of Maestro, a conductor whose traveling orchestra becomes trapped in a mysterious mansion after a jealous ghost interferes with their performance. Maestro's musicians are captured, leaving him to explore the property, confront its supernatural inhabitants, unravel its curse, and gradually rebuild his troupe. It is an immediately understandable premise, but the combination of platforming, combat, exploration, and rhythmic mechanics gives the adventure considerably more personality than its relatively modest scope might suggest. Developed and published by Game Academy, the project draws inspiration from established action and platforming games while trying to create its own musical variation on their ideas. The mansion is divided into different areas and biomes, including interior rooms and gardens, with individual environments providing distinctive movement abilities and powers. It gets points for being free, short and working on the Deck. Loses points for poor registration of the 2nd press of A to double-jump and rubbish extra level.

I want to say yes, but my heart claims the opposite. It has ideas going for it, but it all feels clunky. For a free game it is a very frustrating ok. 4th boss was easiest of them all somehow. Audio mixing is iffy. Only saving grace is the story and the premise.

very good game would like some more levels though

Very short but funny little game, took me one and a half hour to complete. I strongly recommend playing it by yourself, it sure was an interesting experience for me.
