Video: https://youtu.be/HHymekypdLY I played the demo back during Next Fest, and there was a lot I liked - and it was a title that I looked forward to. Unexpectedly I received a free key from the developer. The full game captures that "One more time," feeling that so few games seem to pull off now. I love that about Morbid Inhale. I started with the campaign, and was surprised at the length. I think it could use some slight improvements, like a display of some kind that tells you how many waves there are. It felt sporadic where it'd pop up that there were 5 waves left, and then a final wave notification. I had no idea how many waves to expect, when waves started, or ended. It's a minor complaint though. Before I talk about the gameplay itself, I feel like I should praise the music used in the game. It's rock, I'd say, and it's rather fitting for the game. It's probably my favorite part of the game. And now, gameplay. At the heart of the game is a central mechanic. Shoot zombies. To make the game a bit more complex we get 3 special abilities, upgrades, and lots of weapons. The shooting of zombies is entertaining, though I think a lot of that falls on which weapon …7 found this helpful

Morbid Inhale, developed and published by Vokeev, is a top-down action shooter that embraces a straightforward arcade philosophy: throw the player into increasingly chaotic encounters and let reflexes, positioning, and incremental upgrades determine survival. It doesn’t attempt to reinvent the genre, but instead focuses on delivering fast, relentless combat supported by light progression systems and a steady escalation in difficulty. The gameplay loop is immediate and easy to grasp. Players are placed in confined arenas and tasked with surviving waves of enemies that grow both in number and aggression. Movement and shooting form the foundation of the experience, with constant pressure forcing players to stay mobile while managing incoming threats from all directions. The control scheme is responsive, and the moment-to-moment gameplay feels fluid, allowing players to quickly fall into a rhythm of dodging, attacking, and repositioning. The intensity builds gradually, turning what begins as a manageable challenge into a frantic struggle for survival as enemy density increases. A key element of the experience is the variety of weapons and abilities available. Players can access diffe…2 found this helpful
Pretty fun and compentent top-down shooter that infuses the "survivors" gameplay elements into a more traditional mission based top-down shooter. I also like that this game varies the gameplay by offering different weapons or objectives per level, and slowly introducing you to the abilities and upgrades. (There's also like boost pads or something that reminds me of the "slide" in the board game sorry!). Varied locations, too! - nice to see something unique each level instead of the same boring arena over and over again! The survivors like mechanics are just a series of straight forward stat upgrades that are reset on a per-level basis. And also manually activated abilities with cooldowns. There's a campaign and then also traditional survivors-like levels to play on. I was pleasantly surprised by how fun and engaging it was, how it gently introduced you to new mechanics, instead of just throwing you in the deep end with everything unlocked and "oh, here are ten pages of text to tell you what to do". Nah, it's just one or two things at a time, much appreciated so I get to shoot stuff in-between reading.2 found this helpful
This game is really addictive. I especially liked the levels with teleporters and the one where I had to unlock the hatch. These are some pretty unique and interesting game mechanics. The initial levels of the game are easy and might seem a bit boring to an experienced player. I understand that they are made for those who haven't played top-down shooters much. But later the game gets really fun. I was also pleased that I could either aim myself or play with auto-aim.
