Mouse Playhouse

"Mouse Playhouse" is a student project from the SMU Guildhall. This time it's a 3D rendered VR exclusive puzzle game where you arrange blocks and things to guide a little mouse to some cheese... that's all there is to it. The puzzles are okay, but it's unclear why this had to be in VR. Or published on Steam. Does every students homework assignment have to go on Steam now? Can't they just give the students a grade and be done with it? Nope, apparently Steam is now part of the university curriculum. But why is that good for gamers? Oh yeah, they don't care about gamers. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Игра «Mouse Playhouse» — уютный, но скучноватый симулятор жизни мышки. Простая механика: собирать еду, избегать кошек, строить убежище. Графика милая, атмосфера умиротворяющая, но отсутствие сюжета и глубины быстро надоедает. Подойдёт для коротких развлечений, но не для долгих сессий. Оценка: 3/5.
