Mythic Battlegrounds: Demonic Siege

Autobattler makes sense if army composition is important and if there any some synergies etc to play with. This game doesn't have that, the amount of troops is very limited, there are absolutely no synergies whatsoever and most upgrades are just linear stat updates. After quick 5 chapters I've noticed that my strategy is mostly the same regardless of race or oponents. There is just nothing to this game really

Unfortunately not recommended. The game got off to a decent start - strong art style and presentation, acceptable generic story setup, learning the units, understanding the quests and skills and payoff of interest. But the mid and late game is a mess. There is ZERO actual battle strategy. The early game makes you think that there will have to be a balance with proper placement, but the late game is just a giant scrum of AOE and enemy HP balls. Other than putting a few melee in the back to absorb the assassin teleports, there's zero strategy other than 'do you have enough frontline and AOE'. There's basically no use for anything but the AOE damage unit and top level melee unit for each race, and just stacking them. You can't actually SEE what you're fighting before the battle starts, so you're stuck with just a generic formation (and it seems everything but the boss battles is RNG generated anyway because if you restart levels are different). Because there is no enemy preview and no battle strategy, there's no reason to do anything but it fast forward on battles the entire time. You can't affect the battle anyway. All 'strategy' is just minimizing the first few levels…

really love this game and its well made! my only gripe is the last chapter boss and portal cheese...you have to have the right skill tree setup that you cant change...you have to start a new playthrough to change the skill tree...a simple reset function would fix this issue so people could change it around for last insanely hard chapter...the game is hard with no diff settings...worth a buy... good luck! edit: there is a diff setting now when you start a new game...easy...med..and..hard....

Feels like a web-browser game. Sorry, this is not a good game. It didn't hold my interest for 30 minutes.

This is a cool little game and I really enjoyed my first playthrough. The mechanics and core gameloop are quite simple, but challenging enough that I had to replay quite a few chapters on medium difficulty. The story as a whole is quite serviceable for a game like this, but the writing is painfully generic and at times seems like it was done by AI, just like the artwork. The UX/UI was a bit frustrating as you have to do more clicks than should be neccessary to get things done, but that's a minor thing. The unit models and battle screen are great, reminding of a 90s isometric style. The soundtrack is ecxcellent, except for the dwarven theme that drove me nuts, because it had english lyrics and I had to keep hearing the same starting phrases every few minutes for the last couple of hours of the game as I played with the dwarven hero. The sound effects, on the other hand, absolutely suck - even games from the 80s did better. On the whole I'm looking forward to the developers next project as this game is a really solid foundation to build upon.

Sadly this game is extremely limited in its gameplay. There are almost no choices to make and the interest mechanic forces you to gamble on random encounters instead of strategically building your army.
