About Nearwood - Collector's Edition
✦ AI summary
Guide Jane through a frozen Nearwood to stop the ancient evil Killiman from destroying the magical kingdom, helping villagers survive the catastrophic freeze along the way. This hidden object adventure stands out with charming creature-hunting challenges, gorgeous hand-crafted scenes, and a bonus story chapter that extends the quest.
The fate of the magical world is in your hands – free it from evil!
There is a new threat looming over Nearwood: all of a sudden, winter has come down upon the land. The once green and lush landscape is now locked in ice and covered with snow, driving away the gnomes from a quiet village on the outskirts of the kingdom. Fey the Advisor again calls upon Jane for help, and together they inch their way towards the source of the cold – which turns out to be more than a mere fluke of weather. An ancient evil has awakened to take hold of Nearwood: the powerful Killiman is back for revenge after thousands of years spent in captivity between the two worlds.
As Jane and Fey explore new locations, they help the villagers survive the freeze, while once again saving Nearwood from the clutches of impending doom!
Ok I guess. Artworks are nice, story a bit like a fairy tale for kids. Music and sounds, nothing to complain. HOG elements mostly easy and you can just spam click until finding correct item. Game should take 6-8 hours to complete. Often those type of games have some redeeming values like artworks, story and music but this one is mostly skippable. Still on the edge of recommendation - 6/10.
3 found this helpful
older game but sweet. It adapted well to my system.
really enjoyed this game puzzles were good i didnt want it to end
This is such a charming and whimsical hidden object game VwV
Hidden object adventure in the Big Fish/Artifex Mundi style with roughly 3 hours of content. My recommendation is based on sale prices (under 3€), as the base price of 9.99€ is a borderline scam given the game's age and amount of content. 🟩Enchanting visuals 🟩Some interesting and challenging mini-games 🟩Intuitive, well strung-together progression and item interaction 🟩Fluid and reactive controls 🟩Enjoyable whimsical music and sound effects 🟩Surprisingly good voice acting 🟥Weak story with skip-worthy cutscenes and too much dialogue 🟥Lack of variety in hidden object scenes gets tedious 🟥Final boss is a badly designed Match-3 game 🟥No HUD indicator for whether collectables remain in a screen 🟥No Steam achievements
good plot, good puzzles.
