He is weakened but not beaten, and his minions will do anything to stop you in your quest to defeat him. With the help of Fiona's schoolteacher, Ms. Thomas, we search for a way to remove him once and for all. Our [b]Journal[/b] has three tabs: Goals (task list), Clues (story) and Characters (background info). There is some extra story in the journal, and no hints are listed in the Clues area. This one was almost as good as the first, I say almost because I have a soft spot for stories that feature protags that are experiencing the world with you and that was well executed in Spring of Shadows. You get a better feel for the protag's and Fiona's relationship and you get more of a backstory on how the Fay world and the human world interconnect. Also I am usually really good at seeing these but the twist in this story was something I did not expect.

The second of the Otherworld series, in this one you are seeking the old teacher of the girl you rescued in part 1. She sends you to gather a bunch of artifacts... but is everything what it seems? Plot is decent, HO scenes fun, and the minigames entertaining. Would recommend.

Otherworld: Omens of Summer is a Hidden Object game that relies more on solving puzzles and moving objects around to uncover the items you need to find, rather than having to focus intently on a cluttered picture to find specific items. This may be a positive or negative depending upon how challenging you want finding objects to be. Even on hard mode, the few classic Hidden Object screens are easy to parse and there is no penalty for mis-clicks at all. The "battle" puzzles offered a little challenge, trying to figure out initially how they worked. The greatest challenge was working with the unresponsive sliders in several puzzles! The story and its tropes will be extremely familiar to casual hidden object gamers. There is always some weirdness in this genre, which I enjoy giggling at. In this game it is that Fiona, the magical child, really needs to go to bed. She spends most of the game nodding and dozing at the side of the screen. Oh, I'm sorry kid - is me trying to save the world from an ominous death spectre of eternal winter too boring for you? A direct sequel to Otherworld: Spring of Shadows If you liked the first one, you’ll probably like this entry in the series as well. More colourful characters like Banshees and Gremlins in your continued quest to stop the dark fairy and the winter he will bring. There is a twist you’ll see a mile away which is a bit annoying because your character walks right into it and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. It’s a four out of five for me.
