Neffy -Moonlight Labyrinth X-

Somehow there aren't any reviews yet so i shall take up the mantle. Would vote neutral if i could - it has the makings of an entertaining game but isn't quite there yet. I wouldn't recommend buying unless it's on a big sale and you don't mind most of the game consisting of running back and forth. Played roughly until the midway point, stopped because it felt like a total waste of time. Granted I might've missed something in the latter half that completely negates my review but i highly doubt it. So for good things - the story is average and the gameplay of solving puzzles while switching between Neffy and Nova could be pretty fun. Also the japanese voice acting was nice. The gameplay as a whole feels very unintuitive, slow and clanky. Picking up/putting down items as Neffy feels like it takes years and the fact there's only 2-3 voice lines being cycled through regardless of the item or action gets repetitive pretty fast. The puzzles aren't innovative or challenging either - it just feels like a linear story you progress by doing hyperspecific fetch quests over and over. A wonderful game. I had a great time playing it. The puzzles were fun, without being too difficult or too easy. The story was enjoyable, not taking itself too seriously or trying to be deep and thought provoking. It served its purpose well, and allowed for some comic relief enemies. The protagonist, Neffy, was adorable. She was silly, she was fun, you wanted to help her. Best of all, she was voice acted quite well! I'd recommend giving the game a play. It is too cute to just pass by.
