About YUMENIKKI -DREAM DIARY-

✦ AI summary

Explore an ever-expanding dreamscape filled with surreal environments and cryptic imagery, collecting items and effects to unlock deeper layers of this haunting psychological world. This officially-supervised successor to the cult classic Yume Nikki captures the original's atmospheric exploration and abstract horror while introducing new possibilities for RPG Maker and indie gaming.

As long as I have dreams in my heart, I can never escape.
I can never awaken from my dreams.
Maybe if I follow the dream just past this doorway, then someday I can wake up again...

Game Features

 • Wander through the elaborate and terrifyingly beautiful world expanding before your eyes as you pass through the door to your own dreams.
 • Experience a unique and alluring realm that stretches the bounds of imagination.
 • Utilize an eclectic variety of items and effects to venture deeper and deeper into the world of dreams.

*This game was created under the direct supervision of and with full cooperation from the original creator, Kikiyama, in hopes of spreading the magic of Yume Nikki to new fans and further expanding the potential of both the RPG Maker series itself and indie games in general.

It's important to note two things. This game doesn't feel like Yume Nikki, which is far from being a bad thing. YumeNikki -Dream Diary- feels like a game of its own, different. Taking clear reference, ideas and concepts from the original Yume Nikki and showing us its own interpretation and perspective. If you play this game thinking its a remaster, you will be disappointed, hence the multiple bad reviews. With both things in mind, if you liked the previous, you will enjoy this one.

Was it THAT hard to make moving possible with WSAD and not with arrow keys? All other keys seemed to be mapped around WSAD control scheme ,but you forcing me to use arrow keys for movement, making controls extremely uncomforatble.

This game is maybe worth playing if you're a Yume Nikki fan, but there are probably better options The soundtrack and atmosphere are really great at times, but there's an unshakable feeling that the game is unfinished The puzzles are simple and there isn't any real challenge or depth, it's all very surface level There's little to no additions in the vein of the 2004 game, just poorly recycled iterations of the most popular events and character designs I don't think it's a bad game, just something somewhat disappointing 5.5/10 Listen to the soundtrack, or buy during a steep discount

This game clearly has its fans, and I'm one of them. While the puzzles are sometimes real tedious, like the block world puzzle, and the platforming can be annoying
(especially the one with the eyeballs and the hands, if you don't have the mask that is)
, there clearly is thought and care put into the game. What can I say? Yume Nikki sweeps, OMORI weeps.
