About Nevaeh

The Village is lit by the glow from the top of the Tower.

The Girl enters the Tower to fix the light for the Village.
The Girl thinks she can get the Village's light back by releasing and taking the glowing Butterfly trapped in the Tower.
The Queen of the Night blocks her from exiting the tower.

The Queen of the Night wants to kill the Girl to get the Butterfly back.
The Girl manages to avoid her and escape from the Tower.

But because the Girl took the the Butterfly, all the light in the Village was gone.
The Village disappeared into the darkness.

It is no longer people but shadows that roam the streets.

"If I put the Butterfly back, maybe the Village will come back."

The Girl heads back to the Tower to restore the lost light and the Village.

- A puzzle manipulating light and darkness

The Girl can summon the Butterfly after she obtains it from the Tower.
The generated Butterfly disappears after a certain period of time and can be recalled by using mana.

The Butterfly lights the lamps to activate the devices.
Move through the shadows of things to make a path.

When in the darkness, the stamina deteriorates little by little.
Near the light, stamina and mana are restored.
The monsters hiding in the dark come out.

When light is near, white traps disappear, but black traps appear.

On the contrary, in the darkness, black traps disappear, but white traps appear.

Use traps to damage bosses and monsters.

- The mystery of the Tower and the secret of the Village.

The infected Village was barely maintained by the light of the Tower.

When the light disappears, the Village returns to its original dark form.

The Girl goes to the Tower to restore the Village's light.
Defeat the bosses of each stage and light the lamps at each section to restore the lost Village.

To save the villagers who are consumed by darkness, you need herbs from the hidden areas of the Tower.
But inside the Tower, there are a number of bosses & the Queen of the Night who will try to kill the Girl.

Use the Butterfly to light up the Tower and solve the puzzles.
Restore the lost Village and heal the villagers' infectious diseases with the light of the Tower.

You can jump to kill a monster, or you can use a trap to kill it.
The more combos you have, the more stamina you can regain.

By controlling falling speed or sliding movement, you can achieve greater combos.

After clearing the zone and defeating the boss, your score will be shown.
The faster you clear it, the higher your score will be.

The game itself has nothing amazingly special, there are not incredible 3d graphics or fantastic gameplay, has an extremely short story, a pretty small cast, an average leveling up system, simple puzzles, collectibles, and boss battles. But it has something special that no word can describe, something that makes every second of playing worth it to the most. The world, the characters, and their relationships transmit a lovely and warmingly feeling that makes you feel home. If there was a word nearly capable of describing this game, I think it would be LOVE. You can't dislike this game, it's a fantastic heart-warming experience.

Apparently this game is virtually unknown to the world, like it only has 4 review minus my own, but I got it on sale for 2 bux, and have to say, it's pretty cool in the sense there's some real creative game mechanics going on it. It has a pretty unique art style too being done in all black and white. Shadows cast by the light source you wield are you're greatest weapon and greatest defence.

Unique art style and matching music make for an unforgettable atmosphere. The game has its shortcomings, among which is difficulty which simply increases boss HP and clunky controls, but it can be overcome and is not an issue if you are not seeking for a challenge.

Weird, cool and very creative "puzzle platfomer". With no text, figuring out the story, what to do, how things work, even some interface elements is part of the fun.
My Experience
Nevaeh is a simple and short puzzle platformer, with a lot of charm and warmth. I don't think there's any better way to describe it as that's the most attractive factor about the games. It's a very charming, very warm game presented in a monochrome, storybook, fairytale kind of way. I don't believe I have much else to talk about really, as much as I loved the game. Like I said its a simple and fairly short puzzle platformer that'll only take you 3-4 hours to beat. The platforming is smooth and feels good. The main gimmick of the game is the magic butterfly that emits light. You would use it to activate lamps, cast shadows, etc... The game somehow keeps playing with the mechanic in different fun ways while remaining relatively simple so that someone as stupid as I can actually beat it without a guide. It also has several boss fights, all of which are based on casting lights and shadows in ways to hurt the boss with them or by directing their own attacks against themselves. For most of the game, you have to enter into a main hub tower of sorts, and go into each section in order to defeat the boss and restore a section of the town. During exploration of t…

this game was an interesting approach in some genres: + interesting shadow light play + riddles + kawaii factor + good soundtrack + simple but cool + kinda mix between metroidvania-htol- etc. + bizarre world - rather short - sometimes i dont understand the story, cause the story is told in picture-speechbubbles? - sometimes the game kinda freezes. dunno why.... I use my shadow as stepladder next 13/10
