Each scene is made of multiple layers rather than a single flat image, so panning sideways as well as zooming can reveal cats hidden farther back. A monochrome view and hints are also available, making it satisfying to chase down even the very last cat. Between stages, conversations with cat-eared girls break up the search, with Live2D animating their ears, tails, and expressions. Japanese voice lines are synchronized with the character motions. Nekopedia also introduces cat breeds and behavior with real photos, including playful doodles drawn over them. [b]A cute little hidden-object game[/b] Nekopedia: Find Her Tail is pretty much exactly what it says on the tin: a hidden-object game where you're tasked with finding cats hidden throughout a variety of scenes. There are 6 main levels, each featuring one of the girls, with another 6 levels available through the free NSFW DLC. I had a pretty enjoyable time with it. It's nothing groundbreaking and certainly isn't going to win any awards, but it doesn't need to be. The core gameplay is simple, satisfying, and works well for what the game is trying to be. The artwork is also quite nice, and one thing I particularly appreciate is that [b]there's no AI-generated artwork here[/b]. Everything is hand-drawn, which I think is especially important for this kind of game where the artwork is essentially the entire experience. There are also [b]100 achievements[/b], which gives completionists plenty to work towards. Most are fairly straightforward, covering things like completing levels, talking to the girls, opening the Nekopedia, and finding specific cats.
