Storyline
You play as a young woman who has moved to a big city and found a surprisingly cheap apartment in one of the blocks on a housing estate. Although it’s quite far from your university and workplace, it offers excellent transport connections. However, the apartment has a story of its own - one you uncover through objects left behind and from local residents, whom you don’t always feel like interacting with but often can’t avoid.Before long, you realize you’re not always alone in the apartment. Someone knows how to enter your home; perhaps someone who lived there before you.
Gameplay
New Face on the Block is a first-person horror walking simulator. Players will explore various locations, interact with the neighborhood’s residents, and uncover a compelling story that took place some time ago. The gameplay focuses on exploration, finding hidden items, and interacting with them to piece together the narrative. To progress, players will complete simple tasks that are integrated into the story.The game emphasizes atmosphere, building tension and creating a sense of fear. While the game creates a tense atmosphere with immersive audio and occasional jump scares, it is primarily a psychological horror experience. It focuses on building suspense and anticipation rather than relying heavily on sudden scares.
The game is designed to be completed in approximately 1 hour.

I feel like the devs games have been getting worse and not better as each new game comes out. The first game I gave a 2,5/5 rating, 2nd game I gave a 3/5 rating. Pretty good indie horror - story kind of felt random but it came together.
A fun spooky game that ended up far better than I was expecting. It's a good time if you are into this sort of thing.
I think I've played like 100 of these games and yes, there are assets being used that we all know when we play such 1-2 hour walking sims, but this one, it was different. The sounds and atmosphere really hit hard, especially outside the building. When a game isn't trying too hard, it's usually at it's best. I'm curious if the dev will do this right. His stories are all a bit different and interesting. They got some talent when they focus on weirdness and atmosphere over jumpscares. I'll check out their future games for sure.
It seems there are inspirations from a handful of 1970's horror movies (new apartment/creepy neighbors/satanic cult themes) at play here. And what is that outside the kitchen window? Yikes! This is about an hour's worth of slow-burn to full terror. Remember kids-if it seems too good to be true....Run! Yellow Basement Games hooked me with Befriended Curse, then Greed Stays Home, and here we are.... Continue please. Next up-Hollow Faces.
i enjoyed this one, gave me some good scares, the sound was great and definitely had some tension.. definitely a good indie horror you want added to your collection.
