About NIGHTBELL

Nightbell is an atmospheric horror game about a Christmas Eve when a cozy home stops being a safe place.
On the eve of the holiday, a young boy stays home with his mother: a decorated tree, a festive table, the anticipation of a miracle. But at night, the house changes, sounds and shadows become unfamiliar, and the boy has only one thing left to do — figure out what is really happening and why everything around feels wrong. The player will wander through the transformed house, follow the chime of a bell, hide from an unknown threat, and try to piece together scattered clues.

By morning, everything looks like a simple dream of a frightened child… but some details stubbornly refuse to fit into a harmless bedtime story.

Nightbell is a very short horror walking simulator that takes place during Christmas. You play as a boy helping his mother doing chores around the house, such as setting the dinner table and cleanup up a bathroom. All the while, strange eerie things start occuring. The game takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. + The graphics are well done, creepy atmosphere throughout. + Several jump scares that work. +/- The developer made an effort to create a couple of fun cutscenes. - Cheap story that doesn't make sense. - Translation issues on objectives / puzzles. - Very short and low budget. The only things this game has going for it, are a few cheap jump scares and a creepy atmosphere. For some thats enough if you're a die hard horror fan. Try to get it on sale if interested. Overall: 5/10

First off, this game is SUPER short - I finished it in just about an hour. It's very simple and you get all of the achievements just by playing it all the way through. Having said all that, it was a very fun quick game that made me jump MANY times. Definitely play it in the dark - it'll make the experience even creepier.

Starts off extremely slow with time padded to run around the house and do chores for mom. Do your own chores mom! It's reeeeeeeaaaaly boring!!!!! It picks up a little later and is better but its just jump scares with little plot and a cheap ending. Not worth your time for this title. Plenty of other better titles out there.

The pitch black upstairs hallway--what is this all about? There's a glowstick? Where? No keyboard keys activate anything to do with this. No saving?! After getting stuck in the hallway with no visible light anywhere and quitting the game I'd rather not slowly trudge through the buggy fetch quest again to reach the post-nightmare, stuck in the complete darkness nonsense. Speaking of nonsense, why are we getting flour to make pancakes if there is a box of clearly labelled pancake mix in the cabinet under the mixer? Why do we have to go straight to bed after prepping the ingredients and setting the table? And mom, take your own wet towels to the laundry room. Play "The Silent Snowfall" instead.
