A short horror game with a great message attached, but it left me with mixed feelings. With it being a horror game, I wouldn't exactly call it scary? The graphics are beautiful, the atmosphere and tone was set, the sound design keeps you on edge most of the time and the message the game delivers is a great one too. But that's all I can really say, at the end of the day its a walking sim. The game tries to scare you with cheap jumpscares and some tied to events, but they never really landed for me. With it being extremely short (about an hour of your time) its a simple game to 100%, I'd say grab the game in a sale. But overall, its an alright game. Is it the best game ever? No, but I enjoyed it. If I could give a mixed review, that's what it would be.1 found this helpful
It's a short game with some good jumpscares.1 found this helpful
Cool, short horror game. Is it the scariest? No. Was it super interesting? Not really, but it wasn't bad either. Just a nice simple game to play when you're bored and have ran out of other games to play. Don't have anything negative to say apart from it being like every other 'Fears to Fathom' style of horror games, which is why I didn't find it scary as all the jumpscares were quite predictable.
9/10 a great holiday horror game with a great story. The story really locks you in and you want to see where it is all going. A short game but for only $5 and many times on sale worth the pick up.
Christmas Nightmare surprised me—and that’s saying something, because I usually go into holiday-themed games with very low expectations. I played a bunch of Christmas horror games, and I honestly wasn’t expecting much… but this one ended up being a pleasant surprise. Is it the best game I’ve ever played? No. But considering where my expectations started, I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. The story—and especially the twist at the end (which I won’t spoil for anyone who wants to play)—is pretty cliché. That said, it still worked for me. The game is short, the atmosphere is solid, and the gameplay was fine. Nothing groundbreaking, but nothing frustrating either. It does exactly what it sets out to do: deliver a quick, spooky Christmas experience without overstaying its welcome. And honestly, that’s all I really want from a holiday horror game. If you’re in the mood for some festive fear, I’d say give Christmas Nightmare a shot. It’s not the best scary Christmas game out there—but it’s definitely worth a play. 🎅😬
