About A Very Merry Nightmare
A Very Merry Nightmare is a 3D First-Person game made in Unreal Engine. The story follows a young boy named Oliver on Christmas Eve who follows a mysterious doll to another world full of Christmas decorations, however, things are not as wonderful as they seem. Oliver must then figure out how to make it back home before it is too late. Some features include an AI enemy that can both watch the player from a distance and chase the player when prompted. An interact system with objects like drawers, cabinets, and doors. Players can also eat the various sweets in the world and find hidden notes left throughout the environment. This game was my Senior Project for my major and was made in 16 weeks. It was also my first project in Unreal Engine. I was the sole creator of the game handling everything but the sound (sourced from Splice) and the 3D modeling (sourced from Unreal Engine Marketplace).I am open to feedback and will have a place for submissions of any issues you might have. I will be taking all feedback into account and am open to adding more to the game in the future. I truly hope you all enjoy this game and I look forward to your feedback!

The graphics were beautiful, it had some eerie moments (and funny moment from overeating goodies), For a free game I give it a positive review, I just wish there was a bit more to the story and to the game itself.
This is an interesting game and well done for a student project. I liked Mouse. I didn't like Face (the name I gave the enemy). But I'm not supposed to like Face. There is a nice atmosphere and some interesting world-building. There were so many sweets that I entered a food coma and I have no regrets. I didn't encounter any bugs during my playthrough but there was a little bit of screen-tearing and some movement blur, but I am playing on a laptop. It ran fine with Medium settings and I had no issues. I got used to the little bit of jank and didn't notice it after a short while. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the ending with trying to get past Face. Sometimes it would just spawn right in my path. But I got past it eventually. I only wish I could have done more for Mouse. I'd give this project a passing grade and encourage others to give it a play.

It was a ride! 40 minutes of pure gameplay hook. Narrative - simple and linear but well implemented. Definitely a good horror idea and boy the jump scares, the sfx and music, the gritty ambiance - all well done and very immersive. Definitely recommended to indie lovers looking for a short horror hook. P.S.: Hate that red eyed guy, can't tell how many times it popped me lol.
