Ninja Ming

Fun and accessible precision platformer blends tight controls, kunai-based teleportation mechanic, and a clever way to cheat death. The story centers around five ninjas who once prevented the opening of a rift that threatened the world. Although it was believed their mission was successful, the job wasn’t completely finished. Now, years later, they roam the land as spirits, stuck due to unresolved matters. To help them find peace, the leader of the group contacts a rookie ninja—someone with the potential to finish what they started. Gameplay focuses entirely on precision platforming, tight timing, juggling various skills, dodging traps, and reaching the other side of each screen to access the next challenge. As you progress, new mechanics and abilities are introduced, all explained through a small codex containing snippets of world and character lore. While basic jumping plays a role, the game’s signature mechanic revolves around a throwing knife—a kunai. I've played quite a lot of these "precision platformers", some have been tougher or more fun then others, how does Ninja Ming fair up, read on and find out. Oh you wanted Story details?, a bunch of ninjas want to save the world yadda yadda, oh you wanted more ? I honestly cant be bothered. If you're new to these type of games, "Precision Platformers" (PP) can be fun, but they can also be infuriating and most will drive you up the wall, they are meant to do this, its whether you have the patience or not. After a fairly straight forward start and ignoring a confusion over whether I could collect something or not, I seemed to be getting the hang of the game. You start with a simple aim and throw the kunai, then teleport to its destination, well it at least sounds simple right ? Sadly no its not, I tried both left stick to aim and the optional right stick and still had issues aiming exactly where I wanted the kunai to go, its fiddly, very fiddly, and having to watch your jumping as well, especially with the traps, spikes and holes you can fall down, you have multiple things to do at once. Very tight controls precision platformer without a lot of visual identity besides "ninjas, sure." I enjoyed my time with it. It was short, challenging, had some fun mechanical depth with the dummy flash mechanic, and it ends before it wears out its welcome, but I couldn't help but want a better story and music. Here's hoping this team can make some more games in the future with this fine foundation! 7/10, good game.

Fun and challenging game. One of those love hate relationship games where you hate it when you spend hours on a level but love it when you beat it lol. play a few hours at a time and try not to throw your remote ;-). When I play this game I think of the messenger meets super puzzled cat. have to master each ability to use them to succeed in each level. 8 out of 10

Great platformer. The mechanics are fun to play with and 100% completion is a decent challenge without being overly difficult.
