No.9

There isn't much to No.9, but for a price of 99 cents, it's an entertaining 45-60 minutes to spend. The goal is to match two figures to each other by manipulating the bottom figure to what's displayed on the top. This gets progressively harder as movement and shapes are introduced, but the concept stays pretty accessible and (almost regrettably) never gets really difficult. As with most other games of this dev, what remains is a short, somewhat interesting puzzler that never really dares to be challenging, but remains a chill way to spend an hour looking and deciphering abstract art.

What I mistakenly took to be a simple matching game quickly became something with a unique philosophy that matched the identity of its strangely haunting environment.

No.9 is a very creative mini/puzzle game built around placing track points to guide figures or their movements. With squares, lines, circles, and shifting objects, it creates a surprisingly engaging experience. It isn’t just about finding the right spot, it’s about figuring out how every piece of the mechanism fits together so the movement actually works. The ambient sounds are relaxing, and the color palette adds a lot to the atmosphere. Some levels introduce color cues that either help you or make things trickier when you’re lost. Personally, I didn’t find the color super useful, it only really helps in one or two levels, but it does make it easier to distinguish similar looking objects with different speeds or shapes. That visual variation becomes important when organizing everything in the small space the game gives you. There are a few things that could be improved. The game doesn’t explain basic controls, so it’s easy to get stuck on the very first level since you’re never told you need to hold the left click to progress. Really good and fun puzzles. It's just too short

Not worth your time. No way to turn off audio, no menu options, and just a tedious experience. Disappointing as I enjoy the developer's other games ... The puzzles are not novel & thought-provoking - just trial & error.

There's no holding space, you cannot swap two pins, only move them one by one with only one free space. And then each time you finish the puzzle, the game just sits there and waits for you to hold the button for an uncomfortably long time, to start the next level. The graphics use some stupid creepypasta film grain, and mostly gray and dull shades of grey. Not even all 50 of them. It's less of a puzzle game, and more of a kids shapes-sorter. The first like half is entirely dull. Only when the second part gives you gifs as shapes to reassemble the looped video it starts to get going.
