What Steam players say

Players are divided on this AI-generated game, with some appreciating its creative blend of survival, crafting, and tower defense mechanics set in a creepy space horror atmosphere, though they note it has indie rough edges. The main criticisms center on inconsistent AI art quality and style that creates visual jarring, unclear objectives and goals, and incomplete or inadequate tutorials that leave players confused about core mechanics and the ultimate purpose of survival.
This is the sloppiest of AI slop games. I do appreciate that the developer disclosed this was an AI game up front so I knew that before I purchased. Sometimes a game is less than a sum of its parts. This game is a hybrid shooter and base builder that is vaguely similar to hero RTS games. You are on board a colony ship and must build buildings which produce little space men, while fighting off spawning aliens. There is a day night cycle, and at night things get tougher. Every aspect of the game is not well done. The AI art is of vastly different quality and style. Some stuff is semi realistic, other items are strangely stylized or like a cartoon. The entire level shifts back and forth during combat, I guess because you are in space? It leads to a strange sort of vertigo. Levels are a confused mix of 3d assets and 2d assets. However, the mix of art styles means there is no immersion and the whole experience is off putting. The controls are also not good. For some reason most of the key controls go off of the mouse wheel, which at least for me was finicky. You use the mouse wheel to switch between crafting and shooting. You also use it to bring up the build menu. You…5 found this helpful
No tiket honestly surprised me. Started off slow but once things got creepy, I was hooked. Great mix of crafting and survival, and the atmosphere is tense. You can tell it's indie, but it’s got heart. Would recommend for fans of weird space horror.3 found this helpful
Wow... that art style works terribly in play
🚀👻 “Space travel sounded cool… until the ship turned into a floating haunted house. No Ticket Back drops you into a nightmare voyage to Mars where survival means crafting, escaping, and trying not to scream every five minutes. The concept is great, the atmosphere is chilling, but it doesn’t quite stick the landing. Think ‘Red Planet meets ghost tour,’ but with more panic and less payoff.” 😅🪐 ⭐ 4/5 — I don’t recommend this one. It’s spooky and creative, but there are better survival horror rides out there. 👉 Check it out here: https://youtu.be/7pKFOxIJ_L8
It's hard to put "No Ticket Back: Craft, Survive & Escape" in any genre. There are some tower defence elements, there are some city builder elements, there are resource management elements. And a bit of action. So...let's just call it a mix. And it's an interesting mix, with a lot of interesting ideas, a lot of heart...but for some reason i didn't managed to understand what my ultimate goal is :D Do i need to survive for a period of time? To build speciffic buildings or gather speciffic amount of resources? Or i need to survive until i get all updates and then find a way out of the ship, or kill a boss? Also the tutorial didn't told me so many things...like that the construction tool is also an weapon (and maybe better one than your blaster) or that the same tool have alternative fire which can destroy most things in the map? Perhaps just a bit of more information will greatly help the game. Otherwise..yeah, it's cool. Short video: https://youtu.be/tDWclx2K2wk
