About Oberak (Prelude)

Oberak is a stylized genre mashup of action adventure RPG and Social School Sim with a dash of Roguelite spice, set in a Sci-Fantasy world inspired by Wuxia stories, Shonen martial arts anime, and the style of hip-hop culture.

As a powerful Qi warrior, your journey will focus on nurturing and training students in order to activate their superhuman Kung-Fu abilities. You’ll master a myriad of skills including martial and athletic training, hunting, gardening, cooking, foraging, and crafting, which you will pass along to your student. You and your students’ abilities will be put to the test through up-close, hyper-stylized combat with deadly rogue clans that have threatened the lands of Ti-an. Challenging combat, exciting narrative, and satisfying cultivation are combined in a refreshing new spin on a Cultivation Sim.

Overall Status: Play the Demo (Positive Vibes) -------------- I was pleasantly surprised by this, the combat feels really solid. I'm a gamer, but not a good one, and this game sure makes you feel talented even though, its basically 4 buttons without much combo necessity, thus far from the demo. Let's go over the things: Positives: 1- Combat feels good, heavy, simply, yet flashy. All great. 2- The animations half that "on 2"s like Spirderverse vibe, and I feel this game might draw inspiration from that in terms of style, for example, some of the skin textures feel very "painted" like Spirderverse, and that's all very good in my book. While the run animation is a bit- too much, I think it makes you feel fast and powerful and its really effective at that. I think the step between full speed needs to be used unless you are at "critical max speed" so it feels more organic. Also- the fight animations are on point. 3- Oh wow- the Flash step mechanic...is basically why I'd buy this game if I was gonna. So, its basically dodge, but you phase through the enemies like a Ninja, and-- that's thematically perfect, it also makes the dodge-- so much easier and more fun than in ...most games th…

"Oberak (Prelude)" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Oberak". Oberak is a game that doesn't even exist (the developer didn't bother when people ignored this advert), which itself just looks like a bunch of Unreal assets dumped on an Unreal parkour/platformer blueprint and discribed somewhat schizophrenically as a " third-person Action Adventure RPG and Social School Sim mash-up, set in a Sci-Fantasy world with hip-hop influences", which is a disturbing word salad if ever I saw one. But, high school tier asset flip is definitely what this would have been like if it ever got made. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Oberak, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Oberak (Prelude)" too. There…
