Solid twin-stick zombie shooter with light squad mechanics, but also clunky resource collection and occasional combat glitches. This zombie shooter skips the narrative entirely, dropping you straight into the action with a simple setup: pick one of three maps, choose your difficulty, and get ready to survive a set number of increasingly intense waves. At its heart, the game is a twin-stick shooter. You’ll be mowing down hordes of zombies with unlimited ammo and smooth aiming mechanics. Each wave comes with a primary survival objective and the occasional side mission, usually involving a quick gold reward that can be used to upgrade your arsenal or build defensive turrets between waves. What sets this game apart is its worker recruitment system. As you fight through the waves, random NPC co-workers appear. You can either escort them to safety for extra reward or recruit them into your squad. These recruits can take on one of four roles: soldier, medic, engineer, or athlete. Each has a distinct purpose: shooting enemies, healing allies, fixing/building turrets, or dealing melee damage. Fun version of a squad shooter. It seems that the recruited squad members level up and become more powerful the longer they survive and more actions they are able to perform successfully. You also get the opportunity to manually upgrade their stats and equipment by spending money or upgrade points in the headquarters. During the longer modes I found myself getting attached to the team members and trying to protect them because I had spent so much time and resources upgrading them. Devastating when they get overwhelmed and you need to start again. In the easy modes the game already starts you off with enough money that you don’t need to worry about missions and money, but it helped to understand how to play the game before trying harder modes. But the harder modes really require focusing on earning money through mission completion and survivor evacuation to have enough to buy upgrades which creates a good loop of gameplay. This meant that each mode offered a different challenge and meant progressively more features of the game needed to be used correctly to succeed. Office Outbreak Savior feel clunky and slow, and just another reason why I don't like twin shooters. However over all the game is alright and on the cheap side. I love twin stick shooters and this is pretty TBF. Sometimes the controls feel loose and the action slows the frame rate for some odd reason - I like it - bit samey samey - needs more levels and variety - worth the money though!"
