About One True Hero
One True Hero is a quirky 3D platforming adventure featuring a young hero who can barely save himself!
An evil tyrant... A magic sword... A young farmer turned Hero...
It's a tale we've heard thousands of times before, and in the kingdom of Genericia things like that happen every other week!
This makes it hard for our Hero to be taken seriously when he tries to save a town that's mysteriously sinking into the ground, even if he is the only one capable of saving it!

All sorts of terrible evil creatures will stand in your path. You're going to have to deal with them if you want to save the kingdom!

Who knew there was so much jumping involved in being a legendary hero?

Meet a cast of memorable characters, explore dungeons, solve puzzles and unravel the mystery of the sinking town before it disappears off the face of the earth!

This game looks like a cross between Ocarina of Time and Spyro the Dragon. In truth it’s like a mix between Ocarina of Time and a dollar store Monty Python. It’s at its most Zelda-like in the dungeons, when you’re led into rooms stacked with combat encounters and puzzles. Well, I say ‘dungeons’, but they’re just as likely to be orphanages or barracks, as the game is a bit more light hearted, preferring to stay in the light, offering a world that’s more colorful than it is dour. It’s refreshing, in all honesty. The game has a very ‘Monty Pyton’ dry sense of humour which I was not expecting and at times the cut scenes had me laughing hard, which as a bitter boomer is rare in video games. Particularly the town hero and the girl at the orphanage had me laughing out loud multiple times. The setting of the game is awfully fun. The narrator does their best Deadpool impressions throughout the game and takes little stabs at the tropes of the genre, the limitations of the game, and anything else it can get its hands on. The characters eye you with suspicion and send you on wild goose-chases to get bottles of water from the top of towers. It’s all good natured and sporadically hilarious.…38 found this helpful
worst movement i long time played....in the castle the room with the rope was the moment i quit the game, after 20 tries to move with the rope and jumping to the stair....i give up....have no idear what i do wrong, i am on the down site of rope moving on the higest point backwards but the highest point of swinging are not enough i jump and maybe 1m i am to low to reach the stairs....this room level makes zero fun.....3 found this helpful
I've decided to change my review of the game, I would like to start with the cons and end with the pros. The cons are that the platforming can be quite frustrating at points, but if you're patient, you will get through the difficult parts. The other con is actually something I noticed when i picked the game back up today, and that is the 3rd and sometimes the 4th hits in a light attack only combo don't seem to hit an enemy, even with the enemy being right next to you. Now with the nasty bits out of the way, I'll move on to the pros of this game. Quite literally everything else, the story is fun and comical, combat is engaging and does require an amount of tact to carefully dodge enemies, especially in the late game as the amount of enemies increases quite a bit. The soundtrack is well written, the progression is well paced, and the skills are fun, a lot of homages to other great games of the genre in there. It's like zelda mixed with crash bandicoot. I'm looking forward to the next entry in this series, I would recommend this to fans of the action adventure and platforming genres. Also, the dev is a nice guy, his response actually is what got me to change my review, he seems very c…2 found this helpful
In spite of the difficult controls many times, I still had fun. If they had smoothed out the controls issues, this would have been a fantastic game. So often I was trying to figure out how to make the bad control issues work for me. I don't really enjoy the escape scenes where you basically die many times and have to memorize the correct path. It's not fun and it doesn't really take any skill. It reminded me of some Zelda games. I give it a thumbs up because I hope they make a followup and read all of the comments and make it a lot better when it comes to the controls and response. I would get it on sale and enjoy it and when you get stuck just come back again later and you'll figure it out.1 found this helpful
https://youtu.be/I9bi-zBK7eM Barely squeaking by on the gameplay basics, the light forth wall breaking humor doesn't quite get it over the top for to stand out.
Uhm... Nope! No thanks! Very rough around the edges game with many bugs galore. Not for me.
