This game was close to be the sort of jank I love.: -Poorly translated, melodramatic dialogue? Check -A weirdly adorable robot buddy whose face is basically an ASCII emoji? Check -Visuals that look good in still images but don't quite run right? Check So why the negative review? One word: Controls. One more word: Terrible. The keybinds were so awkward I switched to controller. Then still had to use the keyboard occasionally because the controller layout was hardly intuitive. I ran out of grenades, so I picked up some more. Well, I thought I did. At one point I stopped being able to select them as a weapon. And I wasn't sure if the recoil was bad or I just sucked, so I turned on auto-aim. Then I turned off auto-aim, because it was actually worse than aiming manually. It was like the gun was recoiling before you even pulled the trigger. It's too bad. The game, I mean. It's too bad to recommend.
Orange Cast: Prologue by Team Rez and Valkyrie Initiative is a short, self-contained introduction to a larger sci-fi project, designed less as a complete experience and more as a preview of the world, mechanics, and tone the full game aims to deliver. From the moment it begins, it presents itself with clear ambition, placing you in the role of a futuristic soldier navigating hostile environments while hints of a broader interstellar conflict unfold in the background. It is immediately apparent that the developers are aiming for a cinematic, story-driven shooter that draws inspiration from established science fiction themes—corporate power, military conflict, and mysterious forces beyond human understanding. The structure of the prologue is straightforward and linear, guiding the player through a sequence of combat encounters and scripted moments that introduce the core gameplay. Movement and shooting form the backbone of the experience, with the player advancing through levels while engaging groups of enemies. On a basic level, the mechanics are functional and easy to grasp, making it accessible from the start. However, as the gameplay continues, the limitations become more notice…
this game is okay. but still needs a lot of work.

Jerky graphics, even though they look pretty good. Game mechanics don't work consistently, it's a chore to play and no fun therefore, and this after 20 minutes or so.
