What the hell, how is that game a massive downgrade from previous entry?

Quite fun, but misunderstood. The devs failed attempt at expanding their playerbase resulted them getting a mediocre review score from the niche audience they already had. The previous 2 Pako games had this quite unique sephia-toned 70s car chase movie aesthetic. With the second one they more or less perfected the recipe, perhaps that's why they tried this completely different approach, out of ideas on how to enhance their game further. If you compare the store pages of Pako 2 and Pako 3 side by side you can immediately tell how this one is more casual oriented with a cartoony chibified look, and it plays that way as well. There are about 60 levels in this final build across 4 different modes, and except for 3 getaway maps all the maps feature rather small constrained closed areas. Unselectable dotted circles in stage selection screens imply there were originally more to come to this game, and despite its sidetracking and backtracking from the franchise's original premise, I feel a little bit down because this is not a badly made game at all. Had they named this as a non-numbered spinoff title from the first place intended to fill the respite phase I have no doubt there would have …
This feels like a downgrate...
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3397800699 Ok i have to be serious. I went back to writting this review because i forgot about i had PAKO 3. Thats right, "had". Shortly after i played it, it really didnt click with me. PAKO 2 was a great game and feels compliedly different next to PAKO 3, it was just not the same...
So "bad"?
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3397800622 First of all, gone are the "open world" like areas. Massive Gun-fights? Gone. Insteed of "all of that", you get basically a waterd-down version from an event-racer like game. Small areas, small levels. Srsly, i duno what the deal was but PAKO 3 feels way to different next to PAKO 1 & 2. I just cant recommend it, it hits and plays way to different.
DO i recommend it?
IF you enjoyed the PAKO series SO far, i would sure say no. Dont get PAKO 3. Its not the same, clearly not. IF you enjoy small action-car games and never even PLAYED one of the other PAKO games, than i "would" say you could try it. Its kinda a mixed bag and again, here i wish steam would give me the opinion for a "middle review". In one hand, its n…

downgraded from PAKO 2 :(

Pako 2 was a janky mess., a fun janky mess (Over 500 Very Positive reviews), but it was 2017 and Tree Man Games didn't have the experience they have now. Pako 3 is refined, has 4 modes including the Pako 2 cops and robbers mode, with easier to control vehicles, but still with the fun floaty aspect Tree Man Games is known for. Leveling up is not a GRIND like it was in Pako 2, plus the vehicles look like the future USPS vehicles.
