About Party Pirates
Ahoy, Mateys!
Party Pirates is an exciting couch co-op game where you and your friends embark on a maritime adventure on uncharted waters!
However, many surprises await you during the voyage. It's up to you whether you come out unscathed from each situation or if your ship will sink to the depths! The key to victory is cooperation—only teamwork will keep your ship afloat!

Step into the shoes of brave pirates setting out on a perilous journey from port to port, facing formidable foes and sea monsters. Remember that there's a division of duties on board. Someone gives orders, while someone else... fixes the deck!

Every role on the ship is crucial. If you don't patch up the holes in time, your vessel will go under. And if you tire of being a deckhand, also remember that the deck always needs to be beautifully scrubbed!

Can pirates exist without cannons!? Well, of course, they can... But fortunately, you'll get a whole set of cannons that you can use at will to sink enemy ships! Before using them, though, we suggest reading the manual or, at the very least, not aiming towards your own deck...

When one of you shoots, the other loads the cannons! When one of you repairs the deck, the other shields them from enemies! When one of you falls overboard, the rest... celebrates? Every ship has its ups and downs, but one thing is certain—only cooperation will save you! Communication and coordination will lead you to victory! And remember, shanties were sung on pirate ship decks to ensure everyone worked in harmony with the melody. We suggest singing loudly; it might help you!

Explosions, sword fights, cannonballs flying overhead, monsters, fire, destroyed ships, and in the midst of it all—brave pirates! All this and more in "Party Pirates"! Can you keep the crew in high spirits and the ship on course, or will you be consumed by the depths of the ocean? Gather your crew and find out for yourself!

Trailer looked veeery fun! Me and my cousin had a blast playing Overcooked, and we LOVE pirate-ish themes. We thought this game will be a perfect mix of both. The first levels were fun. They had a nice learning curve and we enjoyed it. Aaaand then the game started throwing EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE at us. Repetitive enemies, reaaally weird level design, all obstacles are often based on being annoying, like the goo making you EXTREMELY slow and unable to dash, holes STOPPING you from moving altogether. Add really unintuitive cannon aiming, buggy enemies (one actually couldn't climb the ship and we had to restart the level) and you have a weird mess of a game. I can see devs being passionate about the game - it's a really fun concept to mix Overcooked and SoT in a way, but the execution is janky and honestly I can't recommend the product at this time. Also maybe it's a me problem, but I'd swap throw and dash buttons, I dunno it'd make more sense.8 found this helpful
Party Pirates on the outside looks like a fun game to play with friends on a sleepover but when you actually get around to do it, you start to see many flaws this title posseses. The game tries to be Overcooked but with pirates, which is a very fun concept that could work, the issue, however, lies in execution. I've played the first 30 levels and would like to share my thoughts. Before jumping into the bad aspects, I want to highlight some positives about the game:

I like the game's artstyle. The models are simple but pleasant to look at.
I actually tested the game with friends prior and enjoyed playing the first few levels even though the gameplay was simple.
As I said, I really love the concept of Overcooked with pirates. I enjoyed my time playing Overcooked 2 with friends and felt hyped to try this one out.
Now onto the negatives:

Party Pirates has a linear campaign similar to Overcooked games with the only RNG being positions where enemies shoot their projectiles. This decision, in my opinion, is already a mistake for a title trying to be a fully couch co-op game you play with friends, as restricting the game to a campaign without at least…5 found this helpful
Fun little game! Easy to play and I love that it features remote play! You can hook up with your friends easily and controller support worked flawlessly. UPDATED AFTER DEVELOPER FIXED PREVIOUS ISSUE WITH LEVEL PROGRESSION.1 found this helpful
Great fun game! Very similar to Overcooked. Nice progression through the game (starts of simple and gets harder as you go along). The only downside is I wish it was longer!
Was gifted a copy of the game to play with some friends, but the experience was very short lived. One friend could not connect to the lobby because they didn't own a controller, even though keyboard controls are displayed also. When we did get into the first level, the lag was too much to be playable, and we quickly gave up. Why a multiplayer game doesn't have online multiplayer is beyond me. Remote play just caused too many hassles. Shame, because the game itself seems like a fun, pirate version of Overcooked.
Fun overcooked like pirate game, that starts simple but offers quite a bit of challenge by the last levels, short but definitely worth it if you like chaotic co-op party games
