It's an honest game. Simple, yet fun. The game's secrets are enjoyable and really remind you of an old-school game, almost an arcade-style JRPG. I thought it was really cool, simple, but interesting enough for me to want to finish it. Difficult at the beginning and extremely easy from the middle to the end. The trainer's mechanic, once he is rescued and goes to the village, removes the need to explore to level up the character; you just stay in the village doing that and tackle the other dungeons later. My criticism revolves around the game's difficulty; the bosses are very easy, especially the dragons. Some mobs were more difficult than the bosses. Increasing the difficulty could enhance the sense of achievement. Even so, I recommend the game.

Definitely plays just like Dragon Warrior/Quest from back in the day. I was able to grind pretty quickly and become overpowered but so far it still feels enjoyable. I picked the game up when it first came out so it was a couple of bucks off and I feel like that's just right for an RPGMaker game like this. I'll update this when I finish. Update: The game ended well and the story flowed as expected. I think the dev did a fine job of making a Dragon Warrior clone. A few criticisms/suggestions: -Have save games stored in the Steam Cloud or at least in something common such as Documents in the user's profile. That way, even if it's not in the Steam Cloud, my OneDrive sync will carry my save games between my computer. -Increase the difficulty of later dungeons. Maybe have a definite order to where you can't get into the Death Dragon's Lair until you defeat the character that is cursed by him (no spoilers). -Don't allow such cheap perma-stat increases from the herbalist. I spent all my cash on magic power and killed the final boss with only 3 or 4 hits of that divine spell. It was fun being a badass, but it did detract a little from the final dungeon to kill everything in one hit at…

This felt like fresh nostalgia, oddly enough. It struck a good mix of the original Final Fantasy 1 but with faster travel/combat and whimsical story elements. It made for a fun playthrough.

I took me a little over 6 hours to finish the game. Don't expect a grand story here; you're basically thrown straight into the fray...oh, and there's no party...you're a solo hero from the start. At first, I thought it would be relatively difficult. But after a short while, it was basically just a walking simulator. Most of the enemies were more annoying than challenging. There are far too many ways to improve your attributes and equipment in this game (although...I don't think I've ever had a fish on a stick as my ultimate weapon before). Another thing I noticed...well, the game crashed regularly for me. Something I almost never experienced with RPG Maker games. Consequently, my main activity was saving the game after just a few steps. There's no New Game+ and no replay value. So, if it's discounted (like it was for me), I can recommend it.

Really fun game. Reminds me of Dragon Warrior on NES back in the day. If you play a while you'll have a good mix of storyline progressing and frustrating deaths. Save often with multiple save files especially after important events (leveling up, storyline items, etc).
