Phyllosoma

Phyllosoma is a pretty brutal little Soulslike, and I actually liked how quickly it throws me into its cursed fortress. I play as a lone hunter trying to climb through a place where reality and hell have somehow merged together. The setting immediately gives the game a dark identity, and I enjoyed the feeling that every room could contain another ugly surprise. The combat is the strongest part for me. I have to manage stamina carefully while dealing with aggressive enemies, and the game gives me a proper reason to learn its defensive mechanics. Perfect Guards can lead into counter attacks, while normal attacks build the Soul Gauge that lets me unleash stronger abilities. I liked having these systems working together because the combat rewards me for paying attention rather than blindly attacking. Exploration is also important because the fortress is not just a straight path from one fight to another. I have to look around carefully for useful items and work out where to go next. I enjoyed that small sense of discovery because the dark environment makes every corner feel potentially important. The mix of exploration and difficult combat gives the climb a nice feeling of progress. …

Interesting concept, albeit the story is there you just gotta piece the parts together yourself. It has an interesting concept why is Phyllosoma Slaying Saints? For she can see the deeper truths? I'm curious to know if you plan on continuing this, maybe allow the blade to take Heat to slay Sin and Evil, the combo attacks are perfect and its clear to see there's a lot me and the creator have in common, Slaying a Saint something i would've never thought of doing though.

The graphics required to play this game are fricking ridiculous. Brand new laptop, lowest settings, and literally everything I do is a slideshow. I can play games like Skyrim and New Vegas on the highest settings, but this game runs at like 5 FPS...

The Map was hard to navigate got stock in one area so i gave up, everything looks the same. this game got boring would not recommend.

I've played the game for a short time when writing this and i enjoyed it. I know this isn't the finish product and it was completed in 1 year so it isn't going to be the best but for how much time was put into it, and how the combat feels for how short of a time took its very good so ima give it a 8/10. (I understand there isn't a whole story or dialogue but i still enjoyed it)

Good for a free game I like it more than Elden ring (lol im kidding ) but for real not bad for what is is a free souls like the only thing I will poo poo on is no controller support which is really not cool. 5/10 game
