Pinball Deluxe: Reloaded

At first I thought Pinball Deluxe was going to be a tacky mobile port due to the 'unlock this and that with tickets, tickets, tickets' style of progression, so I was pleasantly surprised when I realised it's actually a half decent pinball game. Well, sort of....and the next bit might put people off! Each table comes with it's own online leaderboard - but each table also comes with it's own unique set of mods (perks) which are purchased with tickets and significantly improve your scoring potential. Unfortunately, the process of earning these tickets is VERY long-winded so you're going to be spending an awful lot of time grinding to unlock everything before you can even start to think about hiscores. Wait, there's more! Booster balls - and when used they do exactly what it says on the tin...boost your score. The catch being that they're 'use once' consumables which you purchase in packs with [you guessed it] tickets and if you want to keep trying for those hiscores you've gotta keep buying those balls😜. So yeah, great as the game may well be, you are permanently locked into a hardcore 'tickets, tickets, tickets' cycle if hiscore chasing is your preference. Not an issue for me pers…

I feel unqualified to review this as a pinball casual. Its got some great tables! Maybe 10/12 total including a super-retro game that looks like a pinball predecessor that feels more skill based than any pinball I've ever played. Feels like a must have for a pinball enthusiast and a fun toy for the rest of us, which it is priced well as.

I HATE this game. And I love it. It has so much to offer for so few money. But I get annoyed by the game pretty quickly. You play one good ball. Hope. Then the other two balls bounce off into oblivion. And you cant do ♥♥♥♥ about it. It might look easy. But it is not an easy game. Hit the wrong edge. Ball is gone. One mistake. Ball is gone. Be unlucky in general...ball is gone. Pinball Dreams, Balls of Steel, these games are way easier. I shouldnt bother and dont play this game. But I keep coming back. Every time with new hope and motivation, and leave frustrated two games later. Also you need a degree to learn the table rules. Read the rules first, that helps a lot. Why do I still bother playing the game? Because its an addictive and good pinball game. For a VERY fair price. Guess what, I was annoyed and instantly wrote this rating. Now I want to play another round.^^ See the other ratings, they tell you all about the other good things the game has to offer.

Lots of tables that are very unique and filled with mechanics.

This is easily the most fun video pinball game on Steam! There are 14 tables (including 2 "hidden" ones you unlock), plus daily challenges against other players as well as quick and easy ones to earn "tix" that you can use to upgrade your tables with mods and powerballs. It's highly addictive! The tables are visually clean, uncluttered and seem maybe too simple at first, but then as you play you uncover things like changing playfields and morphing elements. Even the simplest Plinko-type game is really fun as you try to get the best score possible. It also looks great in cabinet mode, which is a huge plus for me. Simply flip your playfield screen to portrait before launching and enable Steam inputs and that's it! The only complaint I have is that the precision seems to be off from what I'm used to with other video pinball games, so my aim was off and forced me to play volley style, but I still had a blast. Recommended!

Ah yes, Balls of Steel and the Littlewing tables. You old sob's remember those. If you remember those fondly, then get this. I'm not an old sob btw.
