Game play involves avoiding enemies whilst climbing and descending ladders and jumping on moving platforms, collecting all the coins, and escaping by plundering the treasure chest. Each enemy has a set pattern and speed as they patrol their areas, and some smaller enemies, like crabs, can be jumped over whilst taller enemies, like the officers, cannot. The levels where you can jump over enemies are a lot easier than levels with officers, as you have to wait for officers to move out of the way, whilst also timing runs very carefully, and it can be very tight. There's also usually a parrot flying around which seems to know exactly where you are going, or going to be, and because you are waiting for officers to leave a gap so you can climb a ladder, the stupid parrot turns up just at the wrong time and ruins your escape route! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3063925961 The game is quite difficult because of these factors, and the furthest I managed to get was level ten out of a possible twenty. This is a nice nod to old-school arcade games, which used to drain your pockets of cash as you had one more go, trying to reach the next level. The game starts off quite easy on the first level to ease you in, but then starts to become more challenging. Just as you think you've memorised the enemy patterns, that damned parrot which bounces around the screen will probably get you. In terms of modern arcade games, I think this compares well with Donut Dodo, which is one of my favourites.

Fun, engaging yet challenging classic arcade game with banger music and really cute pixel art!

It's a nice little arcade style game. The creator was kind enough to give me a copy as I had provided them with some feedback during development. I considered buying it because I thought the price was good enough and I wanted to support them. But I didn't have enough coins in my steam account... Anyway, where was I? Ah. Fitting music. Cute graphics. Well balanced overall. It's rather challenging, so be warned! But, every time you die, it does get a little easier. I wonder if there is a way to gain hearts, though...

Classic arcade style of game. Can be really punishing at first until you get used to the controls and the enemy movement patterns. Sometimes it can be difficult to discern which parts of the level you can jump on. I also feel like finishing a level could replenish a heart to make it less punishing on the player if they make an early mistake. Not a whole lot to it, but good for 10 - 15 mins and worth the purchase at this price point.
