About Island Treasures

Island Treasure *A 2D pixel action-adventure game blending exploration and collecting.*You play as a pirate captain, venturing deep into a cursed island in search of legendary treasure. Wield your cutlass, throw daggers, defeat guardians, collect gold and golden skulls, unlock chests to gather map fragments—but at the end of every sea, a deadly escape awaits.Detailed DescriptionYou are Jack, clutching a tattered sea chart that reads: “The Golden Skull points the way. The treasure belongs to the greediest.”
The island holds five worlds, each packed with countless gold coins, gems, and Golden Skulls needed to unlock the next world. But monster guardians roam the land, and locked chests are everywhere. Find the keys, open the chests to get map fragments, and push forward.Core Gameplay
  • A Pirate’s Way of Fighting – Use your cutlass for melee attacks or throw daggers for ranged damage. Switch between them to handle different foes. Defeating guardians won’t give you combos, but they drop gold—and that’s what pirates care about.
  • Collecting – Watch the Numbers Soar – Gold, gems, treasure… every pickup increases your score. Look, 000337600! And those 1-up items? Grab one and earn an extra life.
  • Hunt for Golden Skulls & Keys – Each world hides a certain number of Golden Skulls—essential for unlocking the next world. Explore every corner, check behind hidden walls, even inside enemies’ bellies. Also find keys to open locked chests containing map fragments. Collect all fragments to move on.
Special Stages – Deadly EscapeThe final stage of each major world is no peaceful exploration. You will face:
  • A giant saw wheel chasing you from behind—one slow step and you’re crushed.
  • An unstoppable monster hot on your heels. All you can do is run for your life.
  • Enemy gunboats blowing up your ship on the open sea. Dodge and fight back.
  • Rising magma deep underground. Climb upward and escape the scorching heat.
Key Features
  • Tight Action Controls – Freely switch between melee and ranged dagger throws. Can’t win? Run. Can’t run? Throw a dagger.
  • Exploration-Driven Level Design – Every level hides Golden Skulls and keys, some in plain sight, others requiring a keen eye. Without them, you cannot proceed.
  • Diverse Escape Challenges – Four types of escape sequences that test your reflexes and route planning. Each comes with unique visuals and music.
  • Pixel-Art Island Vibes – From sunlit beaches to dark caves and lava-filled volcanic interiors.
The Golden Skull whispers. The treasure lies ahead. Will you sail home with a ship full of riches, or become just another skeleton on the island? We hope you enjoy this game!

✦ AI summary

Players praise Island Treasures as a solid, fairly challenging platformer with good exploration mechanics and decent value for its low price, though they note the pirate protagonist lacks narrative depth. The main complaint centers on camera and scrolling synchronization issues that make fast platforming and jumping difficult, particularly in early levels where visibility becomes a problem.

Hello, guys! The game is not bad, except for the fact that scrolling of the space from right to left isn’t properly synchronized with my controlling. It’s especially obvious when I jump frequently and fast I can’t see where I’m landing, so I’m stuck in level 1-5. Would be great if you could fix that!

You can’t expect miracles for such a low price, but what you do get is a surprisingly solid and fairly challenging platformer that’s perfect for a lazy afternoon. You play as a pirate, though the game doesn’t really bother introducing him or explaining his goal. He’s simply there to match the theme, and that’s about it. The game is divided into individual stages that you tackle one after another. Each stage is fairly compact, but it stretches vertically and gives you a nice sense of freedom as you move around. Your main objective is to find a hidden key, which lets you unlock a chest containing a map to the next stage. There are no markers or hints, so you’re left to find everything out on your own. Variety is somewhat limited. There are five worlds, each with four standard stages, a chase sequence, and a boss fight, but they all stick closely to the same island and sea theme. Only a few of the later levels try to mix things up. Enemy variety is a bit more interesting, with new foes appearing regularly, though they’re not particularly original and may feel familiar if you’ve played similar games. Coins are scattered everywhere and serve as the main collectible. There’s not much …

Island Treasures by Heguo Studio is a compact indie platformer that builds its identity around classic side-scrolling exploration while layering in light puzzle mechanics and collectible-driven progression. Set on a mysterious island filled with hazards, secrets, and scattered riches, the game places players in the boots of a treasure-hunting adventurer navigating a series of interconnected levels. It doesn’t attempt to radically innovate within the genre, but instead focuses on delivering a clean, approachable experience that blends movement, combat, and discovery into a steady gameplay loop that feels immediately familiar to fans of retro-inspired titles. The structure of the game leans heavily into exploration rather than pure speed or linear platforming. Progression is gated through the collection of keys, map fragments, and special items like Golden Skulls, which subtly encourage players to slow down and investigate their surroundings. Hidden paths, tucked-away chests, and environmental clues reward curiosity, giving each level a sense of layered design even if the overall scale remains relatively modest. This approach adds a light sense of strategy, as players must balance a…
