Poker Simulator

The graphics are really bad but if you can look past that, you get an accurate Texas Holdem simulation with reasonable AI (single player only). The audio is also bad but you can just turn that off and listen to your own playlists instead. I really like the tournament mode, where you can work your way up from "no stakes" to high (depending on your success). Ironically, this game will not try to extort money from you (unlike most modern games): You buy it once and that's it. When quitting the game, the last window won't disappear until you left-click (some folks apparently didn't find that out). All in all, this game is worth the money if you "just wanna play poker" (or if you want to learn it).

Game cheats massivly, i have never seen so many pair of aces as starting hand. instead of 1 in 200 hands i have seen it at almost 10 percent of the matches. If anyone knows a mathematically realistic poker game please let me know.

First of all, the AI doesn't cheat regardless of what other reviews might say. If you go to any poker sim on Steam, you'll find the same thing, people claiming the game cheats. In reality, these people just aren't as good at poker as the sim. As far as this sim goes, the AI has different personalities, but all of them are fairly conservative, which makes this a challenging game for people who are used to playing online poker where half the table goes all-in in the first couple of hands. If you want to win the table, you have to earn it, and I think that's a great thing. Just consider this the Dark Souls of poker sims. :) There's an error in how the blinds move around the table, but that isn't really a big deal and can be adapted to fairly quickly. Another nice feature is that you can change the time interval with the blind increases. Also there's a button you can push to speed through the hands without watching all the animations. Overall, I'd say this is my favorite Poker sim on Steam.

The game is alright, but gets boring pretty fast because the AI is not good enough. The AI is extremely timid in the face of even small bets. They'll usually only fight when they have something, so it's easy to tell what they have a lot of the time. They won't figure you out like a human might, so you can do exactly the same thing every time and they'll fall for the same trap every single hand. If you raise pre-flop every single hand, a human would probably be able to figure out that you're betting with trash hands, but this AI sure won't. The game would probably be more fun if you just do what the AI does and call most hands pre-flop so you can actually see some action. If that works for you, have at it. The game also has problems with the pace. As far as I could tell, there are two options to speed up the game. There is quick play, which you can toggle at will in the game, and there is a setting for turning off character animations. Even with the animations turned off, there are some animations that still play, like dealing cards.
