Casino Poker is an old poker game from 2004 with dated graphics and UI that lacks modern conveniences like widescreen support or keyboard controls, though the core poker gameplay itself is functional and can be enjoyable for casual play or learning. Players are divided on value—some appreciate it as a simple, challenging way to play poker variants against AI opponents, while others view the combination of ancient visuals, lack of modernization, high price tag, and minimal features as poor value or opportunistic abandonment-ware pricing.
Casino Poker is an ancient game from 2004. It's a whopping 20 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge, or just a cash grab to try profit from abandonware. This is a very bare bones poker game that looks like it's barely post-DOS era (but might as well be a DOS game). There's absolutely no value in this, it's clunky, dated... basically the "developer" here found some old abandoned crapware and wants your money for it. This kind of borderline ethical stuff does nothing to benefit gamers or the gaming industry. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio, due to the age of the game, it predates the 16:9 widescreen gaming standard established back in 2006. It's possible they're marketing this towards people using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game is being specifically marketed towards people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn…11 found this helpful
It's one of my favorite game, so I like this game. However it's not easy to win other players even if it's normal mode as default. I enjoy such a hard mode. By the way, many people may be confuzed initial setup because it's five card draw. If you want to play Texas Hold'em or Omaha Hold'em, click MENU - SETTINGS - Rules.6 found this helpful
This game overall is an excellent, simple way to casually play poker against computer players. But it does have some issues that might bother some people. The UI is very dated, and can be harder for younger people to figure out. And it has no option for using keystrokes, everything is point and click. But despite that it is elderly for a game and it's slightly cumbersome UI, the gameplay itself is quite fun. It is a good way to both learn how to play, and have a way to play for fun once you've learned. Note: Annie almost never bluffs.5 found this helpful
