Presences: Dark Awakening

Pretty cool little game. Feels like the PG version of what the game could actually be - the scares seemed to have their gloves on the whole time. Still, for a debut game from a solo developer - wow! I am impressed with the craftsmanship and feel of the game. In particular, the sound staging was excellent. Playing with headphones on, I kept feeling like there were creaking and thumping noises in my room all around me. I am excited to see what this developed comes out with next!

Very impressive for a one-developer-show! I actually "awww'd" when he thanked his mom at the end. I mean, it's an interesting game. It's about 90% atmosphere (especially at the top where I was legitimately nervous as I first started exploring) with a couple of interactive "puzzles" (they aren't really puzzles, since they are usually the only things you can click in the area.) It's a bit padded by slow movement, forced stationary moments, and cutscenes, but I didn't mind. It's not a bad way to spend about 90 minutes of your life with a spooky little ghost story. Just don't expect really hard puzzles, major scares, or a crazy in-depth story. It's more like the broad brushstrokes of those, which I was perfectly happy with - especially for one person making the whole thing!

Nice idea. Could have made the scripts that cause events to move a long a little faster. Got a bit tedious waiting for the next event a few times...

totally boring. the game is not intuitive.

Painfully boring walking sim. Much of my playtime was wandering around waiting for the game to allow me to progress. Maybe if the story was more interesting, but I was left uninterested and wondering why I was still playing it after the 1 hour mark. So I stopped.
